I see some other threads similar, but no resolution. My 08 with 34,500 miles has what sounds to me like a cv joint ratcheting noise while stopping and turning at the same time. Not real loud, but while running on battery and no little pumping noises, you can hear this while turning either direction. I had it in after 6 months or so to check this and the mechanic said he thougt he heard it while riding with me but coul not duplicate it and all looked o.k. I want to take it back in before 36000 and thought if I posted here I might be better informed. It does not make this noise when stopping in a straight line.
Did you hit a large pot hole or anything that could have caused your 'ratcheting noise'? Your mileage is still low in my books, but anything can happen on your front suspension. Try to inspect your CV boots, if they are not torn. Check the condition of your tie rods. Check your lug nuts to make sure they are still within torque specs. So your mechanic did not see anything after the test drive?
Have not gotten back in to the shop yet Was hoping for some ammunition to give them when I go in a week or so.
Took it in yesterday, they did not find anything wrong said they were giving it a clean bill of health. But that it is documented that I felt there was a problem for future reference.
