Hey there fellow Prius Chat members. I recently took a trip to Greeneville, TN and back for Christmas to visit the family. I kept my eye out to see how many Gen II's and Gen III's I could see. The results are as followed: Gen II's: 9 (mainly white ones) Gen III's: 4 (black, red, and two blue metallic's) I was quite happy to see the fairly decent number of III's. However, half the time they were on the other side of the median and I couldn't snap pictures quick enough, and didn't get a good look at them. The funny thing that made me jump out of my seat was that I saw a Gen 3 blue metallic pass us pretty quick and was like woah! A Gen 3, on our side of the median. That's awesome! Then, in the side mirror, right after I had seen the first blue metallic pass us, there was one right behind us. It was like they were in some type of pact. It was quite a sight.. Here are some snapshots, what a pretty car. The first blue metallic that passed us: The second metallic behind us: The second passing us: - Yes, I may seem obsessed so please excuse me. Did I capture any Priuschat members? Haha If the pictures appear "squished" click on them and they will open up in a new viewing window.
I've seen a lot of blue Priuses too, which surprises me because I tend to think that white is the most popular color for the Gen3.
My car? Not quite, haha. I'm in my fathers car, which is a 07 or 08 Jeep Commander. I on the other hand have a 2010 Prius myself. EDIT:: or is that because the images are "squashed"? haa
ahh close enough hahaha. I was trying to think what other Chrylser products have huge black handles and are squared off at the back. The images are squashed on my screen, yes.
You were pretty close, that Dodge Nitro looks pretty similar to the Commander. If you click on the images, they will open up in a "normal" view.
I like the elongated look! I have seen so many more Gen III's here in SD area as well. It seems like folks were just waiting for the new ones to come out. then again, used ones get picked up as quick as they become available.
We saw so many Prius on our trip over the Christmas holidays that I finally started counting when my wife drove most of the way home. From Raleigh to Wilmington, about 150 miles, I counted 7, two Gen III's and five Gen II's. Even though Blizzard Pearl is the most popular color, the ones that I saw were Silver Gray, Magnetic Gray, Red, Blue and Black.
Come to los angeles you will see atleast 2 per mile on the 405, they are allover the city. i used to enjoy it when i was the only gen 3 on the freeway seven months back. Not anymore.
I have a niece in Charlotte that just moved back from LA and she was telling me the same thing. She also has a Gen II Prius. I would love to visit LA. My daughter is on the way out there today for the Texas-Alabama BCS game !
