Hey - Just spoke with Jon at PriusXM. He's created SiriusPrius and will be using my baby for the final shots of the installation DVD. He expects to begin shipping next week! I'll let you guys know what I think when i get it.
Wow! This sounds great...exactly what I was hoping would happen. My only debate now...(since I have had my 05 Prius for 3 days now), do I do the Sirius install myself...I'll be scared as hell, but the DVD idea sounds good...or do I drive up to North NJ (only an hour for me). We'll see. Can't wait to see how this unfolds!
Ok, sorry for the delay, I had a business trip come up and mess with my schedule a bit. I picked up the car from SiriusPrius and it works great. The system is integrated into the steering controls and I'm already setting favorites like crazy. I did notice that my screen background color is now blue. However, I don't have a problem with that. Activation was a snap, and everything seems to work flawlessly. I see the siriusprius website isn't truely up yet, but I'm sure it will be soon. If there are any questions you folks have, or pics you want to see then please let me know.
I'd love to see pics of the install. Can you set your display color so it is NOT blue by clicking the display button and changing your color settings to whatever you would like? Or does the Sirius install somehow force you to a blue display? I've also heard that a they Toyota Sirius install (I guess the Solara version) limits you to 10 characters of text on the display. Have you found this to be the case? Looking forward to seeing what the install looks like. Thanks... Eric
Again, my apologies for the delay, life is rough right now. Ok, to some of your questions. 1) I do see a 10 character limit on the text screen display. 2) On the blue screen -- I don't see an option to change it, but I was not aware of one before (or I would probably have chosen blue to begin with). My display button has a screen off switch, as well as brightness and contrast settings. If I'm missing something, well, it wouldn't be the first time. The Sirius install has 18 presets available (3 screens) accessable by hitting the 'Mode' button. There are some photos starting to appear on siriusprius.com as well.
Some dumb questions from the technogically inept  here... Is satellite radio free? Can you get internet on sattelite? ROCK 'N ROOOOOOLLLLLLL MY FELLOW 60'S AFFECTIONADOS! BTW... you can hear & experience it all again..... yes those 45's you passed by or didn't have the 69 cents for! check out this link if you dare! http://home.unet.nl/kesteloo/ I am in no way affiliated with Beyond The Beat Generation...Just thought I'd pass this on to anyone interested.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(alsgameroom\";p=\"105037)</div> It's not free, you buy the equipment and then pay a fee (monthly, quarterly, annual, lifetime, etc). If you think of it as similar to Cable TV to normal TV, that's not a bad analogy.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Xiidaen\";p=\"105021)</div> I am working from memory, so I could be wrong here, but I believe it is Info (on bezel)->Settings to change the colors. The NAV has its own color scheme on its own settings.
Does anyone know if the SiriusPrius unit will co-exist happily with the iPOD2Car? Do they both need to plug into the same AUX input? Thx...
I tried the iPod2Car with XM and it didn't work. When I spoke to the tech support they told me nothing will work with the iPod2Car. It is a stand-alone device. The only interface that will work is the Vais Tech AIC-100i. Bob
