 "Funny thing happened on the way home..." After July 4th fireworks in Dallas, we were stalled in heavy traffic ~10 minutes in "Park" and "Ready" mode, ICE periodically starting to keep the batteries charged. All traffic signals blinking"red" - police controlling traffic movement. When traffic recommenced movement, our Prius wouldn't GO, just beeped. It was necessary to go completely OFF and re-start from scratch twice before the Prius would move. Needless to say, the LOUD HORNS behind us were deafening. The good news, there are no discenable after effects. Anyone had a similar experience?
When you recommenced movement and it woulnd't go, only beep... What gear were you in, what did you shift to? Never happened to me, but I remember getting the beeps before, when I try to do something it wouldn't like (R to D while moving, etc)
A similar thing happened to me, but upon reflection, it was my fault. I forgot to step on the brake while shifting to D. Is it possible you simply tried to switch from P to D without braking?
Thanks fellow Prius-ites!! tstreet and Dave got it.... I did fail to step on the brake when attempting to shift into D. DUH....
Do not feel bad. I think everyone of use has done this at some point. And of course we panic and start hitting buttons etc. Adrian 05 Prius Millennium Silver #5 Dynamatted with 12" JL Sub Woofer
