Congrats! I definitely would have gone with black of given the choice. Happy motoring once you get it
Congrats! They certainly do seem to be coming in faster these days. I waited 200+ days for Priapus. Ya know, I really need to get back out to Utah. Used to spend time in No. UT (Go Aggies!) for work but don't work there anymore. I miss fly fishing in the Wasach Mountains. Beautiful scenery. Enjoy your new Prius and remember, those poeple are staring because they're jealous! ;-)
Re: 2005 Prius, black, package 6 Thanks guys. I appreciate the well-wishing. Hey Tony, I'm impressed by the stats on your website. You got me interested in doing the same. Is this data stored by the nav and you manually transfer to your website?
Re: 2005 Prius, black, package 6 I called the dealer yesterday for a 30-day update. All I got was, "it's not even in America yet."
Re: 2005 Prius, black, package 6 I enjoyed the stats too, nice idea. But you might consider using a more accessible web technology for the navigation on your site, it's not Safari-compatible. I had to sleuth through page source text to get to the Prius stuff. Alex
2 months and still no car. I finally discovered that the salesman didn't actually "order" my car. Instead, he's just waiting for a black, package 6 to come through the pipeline. They aren't expecting another allotment for two weeks. Meanwhile, my wife has sold her car, so we've been limping by with one vehicle. Should I start asking other dealerships if they can get me the car? I already gave these guys a $500 deposit, but I didn't sign any agreements. They misled me into believing they ordered the car (which they didn't) and they promised "3 months or less". They called me last week and said "we have a Prius, but it's not black, and it's not a package 6. Do you want it?". That makes me even more nervous.
I'm also on the waiting list at Tony Divino. Got on last week and was told we were 11 on the list. They said that Toyota wont take orders for specific cars or colors, you just get on the list and pick what you want when its your turn. In fact the salesman recomended we put down any/any for package and color just so we get called sooner. I checked their web site a few days ago and they had gotten 3 new ones in, last week it was 1...no black ones though. We are waiting for a #6 tideland or driftwood pearl, whichever comes in first.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mouztrpd\";p=\"98131)</div> I wonder where I'm at on "the list". I didn't even know it existed. We would also take a #6 Driftwood Pearl, even though black is our first choice. Who was your salesman? I contacted Mark Miller in SLC and asked "Do you have an '05 Prius w/ package 6 allocated and available? If not, how soon could you get one?" They responded, "(WE) DO NOT HAVE ANY PRIUS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. WE ARE 6 TO 8 WEEKS OUT. LIST IS GROWING LARGER EACH WEEK." I knew this process COULD take this long, but I didn't think it actually would! 10 weeks out...I thought for sure I'd have a new car.
Got a call from the dealership today. They told me my car is in America and it should be here in 15 days. I confirmed that it IS a pkg 6 and it IS black, but they couldn't tell me the interior color. After waiting 3 months, the interior color won't be a deal breaker, but I'm really hoping it is black, not tan. I'm also concerned that the dealership will put their logo on the car and/or allow other customers to test drive the vehicle before I come pick it up. I may be eligible for the college grad rebate since my wife graduated within the last 2 years. That will put the final price of the Prius to $26,766 (MSRP w/ mats) - $600 (dealer discount) - $400 = $25,766.
Just call the dealership and tell them that you don't want their advertisement on the car, and that you don't want it to be driven by anyone before you get there. I told my dealership that and received my car with only 4 miles and no ads on the back.
I called my salesman yesterday and said "no decals" and "no test driving". He said the dealership normally applies a decal, so I'm glad I said something first. He assured me that NO ONE would be driving my car except the guy at the dealership who's job it is to test drive every new vehicle.
Hey, Tyler, did you ever get your car? How long did it take? Was it the interior black like you wanted? I was wondering if I should try Tony Divino too. The guys at Brent Brown in Provo seem completely inept.
I wonder whether he will reply -- he hasn't been active since the 17th of July... He does list an email address in his profile, however...
