I went through 2 sets of HID bulbs, and tnow the THIRD set is giving me the yellowish look. I know its time again. I'm just sick of changing them on a monthly base. Now I would like to swap the whole unit with aftermarket HID kits including the ballast (which I think is the trouble maker) And yes I'm going to upgrade to 55w kits, just wonder if this in theory is doable. Thanks!
Usually the limiting factor with HID conversions is the headlight assembly and beamforming. Given that you already have HID bulbs and the appropriate assembly, I don't see why it would be a big deal.
OEM HID is 35W and I want to upgrade to 55W. I just dont know if the battery and the fuse will take it.
I think you won't have any problems with the upgrade... I'm currently running 55W HID on my fogs with no problems and also planning to do a 55W upgrade on the headlights...
