Hi Sleipner, I know a women who had a Mustang, an older one, and her family got a Ford Fusion Hybrid, and she is very happy with it. She feels its IS her new Mustang.
I would be on board as a two time Mustang (1997, 2004) owner but I don't think it has a chance. GM has Ford beat this time, the V6 Camaro is 300HP and yet returns 29mpg highway. Ford could make a direct injection 4 CYL Mustang with 200HP and it would return great mpg numbers but they won't. Since as far as I am concerned the Honda CR-Z is a bust with only 13HP electric side and low mpg...... its time to see what Toyota will do with its Hybrid sports concept. A Prius weight car with the hybrid drivetrain of the Camry (187HP) would be a dream but the concept as a much bigger 400HP combined setup that would suck down too much fuel and be priced quite high. I could see it but they wouldn't be going for gas mileage it would be all 0 - 60 help and what ever gas mileage gain you get would be icing on the cake. Imagine 200 hp gas with a 100 hp electric to go off the line.... Kinda like a tesla with an added gas engine for the purr.
