Sigh. Years of testing and design and many hours of wind tunnel testing out the window! Anything for style?
I will stick with my IV solar package. Sorry but I don't much like the look like my red with the black look from the sloar roof better. Plus the front end is too extreme-over done even. Like the previous post , there goes the ultra low drag coeffecient too. Wonder how big a hit the decreased fuel effeciency will be?
Apparently, somebody at Wald Internat'l has a passing familiariaty with the concept of truth in advertising, and how to fuzz-up the boundary between truth and untruth. "The only thing better then getting 50 MPG from aToyota Prius hybrid is tuning one. The Japanese aftermarket specialists at Wald International have made a name for themselves with their lineup of ultra aggressive Black Bison body kits for everything from the Nissan GT-R to theToyota Land Cruiser. Another Toyota, a much smaller and much less thirsty, but equally as mean looking Prius as just joined the Black Bison ranks. Wald International has added a full front bumper with more sculpted lines, side vents, wide body fenders and the all important oversized driving lights. This is only the first image of the modified hyper miler, so stay tuned for more details." There is nothing at all in the copy that would even remotely suggest that this body kit has any relationship to better aerodynamic performance or increased fuel economy beyond that of a stock Prius until the last sentence. Then, there is the uncertain, perhaps intentionally vague reference to "the hyper-miler." Is the Prius a hyper-miler in its stock OEM configuration, or does it only become one after the addition of this body kit? (What do you think?) Like so many other body kits we have seen/read about, this "aggressive" treatment is merely a styling exercise and, as always... Beauty -- or lack thereof -- is in the eye of the beholder.
I don't get it... Why have a Prius looking so aggressive!? I could understand it better if they slap that body kit on a Prius that actually has better performance, but if the performance stays the same, then what's the point? A Prius with that body is just asking to get smoked, and personally I think the Prius' current subtle stying suits its purpose perfectly.
Nah. Not working for me either. How close to the ground is the front of that thing? 2 inches? "...more sculpted lines..." Not necessary. Less is better. Love the wheels! Matte black hood: meh. I'm not minding the driving lights, just the execution and drawing attention to them in those deep crevasses of the way over-the-top complicated bumper. I think I'll wait for the Proud Fox edition to come out, or perhaps the Grey Ghost.
They were referring to the Prius as a "HyperMiler". The "modified hypermiler" think of it like "modified sedan" or for an minivan "modified people-hauler" etc. For the record...I think it looks ridiculous.
You ever see those cars (usually owned by teens / early twenty-somethings) with every after-market accessory you can get at the local Auto Zone? You know the ones....over-sized spoilers bolted to the trunk, plastic ground effects, etc... Well, this is what this "black bison" edition looks like to me. No thanks!
Appealing to the kids with too much money and time. I think the Prius looks pretty spectaular just as it is!
To each their own ... but if I had the coin to blow on a mod, I'd dump the ICE & make the Prius pure EV. I know ... that's crazy talk. .
I like the signal mirrors on this baby, but that, and the little stripes right at after the front wheels looks cool. Otherwise, I think it looks pretty stupid for a Prius.
