I have a pkg 2 2008 Prius and the smart keyless entry is not working on the passenger door. I can lock the car from the passenger door no problem, but it will not unlock it. Drivers door and trunk are working fine. I have replaced batteries in both fobs. Any suggestions, or do I need to take a ride to the dealer?

Sounds like the touch sensor in the passenger door handle is not working, so a dealer visit would be appropriate.

I agree. The sensor should be covered under warranty. Take it to a dealer.

It could also be a problem with the transponder coil on the passenger side, but that would also require a visit to the dealer.

Wouldn't a faulty transponder prevent locking the door from the passenger side?

With the SKS, yes. It should still lock with the fob. So yes, you are correct, the transponder can't be the problem.
