I've been waiting for my AutoDoorLock kit for about 1 month now. As soon as I placed the order Kelley sent me a confirmation e-mail, saying it should take 5-7 business days to ship...

the reason UPS ground is so slow is because its government workers (oxymoron??) and their myrid of paid holidays they get. they probably shutdown for at least 3 days this weekend

You're mixing up UPS (private) with USPS (quasi-government).

USPS rocks. Say what you want about those "government workers," but I can take a package to my local post office, send it to New York or Ohio or Maine Priority Mail, and it will be there in two, three days tops. Yes, their tracking system sucks but in terms of delivery, you cannot beat USPS. Their Priority Mail rates are usually comparable to UPS Ground rates, only difference is UPS takes eight, sometimes ten days to make it cross crountry. Wth?

FedEx ground is pretty good, though. Fast, and their tracking system works. So, I don't know what the deal is with UPS. Sorry, way off topic I know, but I can't let you dis USPS unchallenged. :)

fedex is the best by far here. of course we have a regional station in town though... that helps a lot

Here's my experience with Coastal Dave (AKA Coastal eTech):

I ordered and received a XM radio installation kit shortly after I ordered it. Then I heard that Coastal eTech was coming out with a Sirius kit, so decided that I would rather have the Sirius unit.

I emailed them to ask if I could return it, annd received a prompt reply - I could if it were complete. It was, so I returned it, and my credit card was promptly credited.

I am completely satisfied with their service!

I think we havwe high expectations for serfvice providers (and we should), but Coastal eTech is such a small firm, perhaps we should give them a break.

It would probably take up all their time to answer every email we send, leaving no time to create and ship the products we all want.

    Patiently waiting for my Sirius,

    Peter

UPS probably gets preferred because they do in-office pickup while the others used-to? only support dropoff.

Otherwise, I would prefer if everybody I ordered from shipped by USPS 2-day priority, which tends to be cheaper and faster than UPS ground.

Yeah, my card was charged (unfortunately it is my check card so it is coming straight out of my checking account) even though I "tried" to cancel my order months ago, but I guess I can't tell what's going on since they won't write back. Anyone want to buy the Nav enchancment off me? I got it for the $45 presale price and apparently now its $100 but I'll sell it at the 45. Unfortunately, I also preordered the Viewtech A/V interface and I'll assume I'll be charged for that too-- Anyone interested in purchasing these items off me? (I cancelled them because I ran into money problems WAAAAAAAAAAY back when I ordered it, its not a big deal anymore but if someone wants them more than me then I'm willing to sell it for what I bought it at unopened/unused.

Well, they didn't send a form but I got the package today! The instructions seem pretty clear and straightforward. I'll see if I can install it tonight. It also came with a box of jelly belly jelly beans!

Edit: I noticed the package has been opened before. It's been taped and when I cut the package open, the "glued" area has been damaged. I assume it's customs that opened it?? Jeez, were they afraid the jelly beans were anthrax filled beans or something?

Great! Let us know what happens. Hey, you'll have to change your signature now as it's no longer "on order."

Thx for the reminder, I'll do it after this post.

So far so good, except the last step :(. I can't get the orange wire/pin to go all the way in. It stops at the wire/metal boundary and my wire isn't exactly in good shape any more after all that plier work trying to get it in. I have tried pushing on that metal flap with a pin. Doesn't work. Any ideas?

If you're installing the EV mod, I used an eyeglass screwdriver to fully seat the orange wire (and also made sure that the white clip was fully raised before attempting to insert). Tiny screwdriver worked like a charm.

    Good luck.

i also received my EV switch, it is installed, testing confirms success, and the jelly beans are half gone.

Dang. Seriously, I must have a super stuck white bar clip or a thick orange wire.
