Again, I use the handholds on the inside- and it is not a two step process... Just reach up and pull down and let go about half way down. I don't like touching the emblem or painted surfaced because, if it's recently washed I don't want my fingerprints on them and if it needs a wash I don't want the dirt on me!

Try it on a Gen 2.

I was skeptical about that when I read it. Didn't think it'd work. But I just tried it and yeah it works great (at least on a gen3). Thanks bighouse!

Agreed -- the Gen 3 is easier to close than the Gen 2. I used the inside handle on both. I think on the Gen 2, I would have to give it a little shove from the outside at the end. The extra push isn't necessary with the Gen 3. I'm vertically challenged, by the way, and have no problem. Haven't caught my arm in it, either :p.

I haven't noticed the rear spoiler wobbling -- but I haven't tried to wobble it either.

I never found closing the hatch to be a problem - just reach up, give it a good tug, and don't forget to pull your arm out of the way. ;) Only tried the 2010 once or twice, but it did seem easier, plus it has inside handles both left and right.

Oh yeah, this is about the spoiler - no, if it was glued on, it probably wouldn't wiggle. It would be awfully tricky to remove and replace, though.

Pretty much no wiggle on my spoiler. Firmly attached, however it was done.

Very early in my G3, IV ownership, I read not to use the spoiler to close the hatch. I use the side handholds, and that works fine.

A week or so ago I ran the car through an automatic car wash. I did not realize until too late that a rotating wheel device with multiple strips was passing over the hood and top. When it got to the rear, the spoler took a severe buffeting .... I was plenty worried. Thankfully, the spoler did not seem to be damaged ... but I will not take into such a car wash again.
