just got done watching the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and couldnt help but notice that there was at least 2 Toyota Prius commercials on (same super bowl moving in place one) at the end of the show they had a song by the Backstreet Boys and it was outside in a parking lot and there was a seaside Prius being displayed gee, hard to believe that Jay Leno, a muscle car buff, maybe a Prius convert?
He's not just a muscle car buff...he's got some pretty unique and interesting vehicles in his collection. Although in past years he's kinda slammed hybrids I suspect he knows enough about cars to recognize something new and exciting when it comes his way. Not that that would stop him from making a joke about it anyway! That said, this is a money thing...Toyota is paying money for an ad and Leno likely knew/knows little or nothing about it other than it helps him pull down the $$$ he takes home.
Yeah, I'm thinking that Leno doesn't really care about the commercials being run during his show. Not to mention that most night shows are filmed in the afternoon. I'm sure that Toyota decided that the right demographics watch Leno and the network decided that they like advertising money. That said, I'm going to start recording Leno to see the commercials. Thanks for the heads up.
Living close to Chicago, I have never heard or seen any advertisement for the Prius. I don't even thinking taping Leno would matter, since I am sure it all depends on where you live.
Those ads that you saw might have been network spots airing regionally or nationally or might have been airing locally only through your local affiliate during a station break.
Yep...I saw this ad as well. Like the SuperBowl ad, but with an award mention from Intellichoice. Who are they and how did the Prius win? Should we be proud?
actually Leno did mention a Prius joke once but that was all and it was pretty tame. i also think that he will get one because he does delve in the unusual and the Prius is definitely different. also i think he knows enough to realize that the Prius wont be a flash in the pan fad
