I was worried about winter driving, but I keep noticing all these Prii on the road in snow areas so it must be OK. Well, that's my rationale for staying with my OEM tires this winter.

If you wish. My videos were done with winter tyres.

Tideland..did you notice if any of the stability control systems have any effect when your foot is on neither the throttle or the brake? I mean if you back off the throttle entering a corner on ice/snow and just steer through the corner without touching the brake...do any of the systems come on? I ask this because I thought they would/should, but in some testing over the holidays I didn't seem to be able to get any respose under these conditions!

It should. If you power into a corner that's slippery and take your foot off, if the car slides, it's still gonna kick in to bring you back to your intended path.

    Tideland:

Did you try braking (kicking in ABS) while cornering? If so, did it maintain the turn or plow straight ahead?

It will try to follow your driving idea, if physics allows. As always - winter tyres rule.

OK I guess I was a bit too timid when I was trying to get the system to kick in. Yesterday i found a good safe snowy place to try it again, and yes as expected the VSC kicked in while I was coasting through a corner with my foot on neither the gas or the brake. I did have to approach the corner agressively, and then using no brakes or gas I turned sharply into the corner....I couldn't exactly tell which wheels were getting the braking but it definitely kept me from starting to spin out...works great!!

Nope but it should understeer slightly then regain grip once VSC kicks in.

Yup. I use more steering angle. It's safer than more speed :)
