Yes, and some medical doctors do hype bs products too for $$$. So, just because that DOT uses it doesn't mean they did an independent, proper test of the product. Maybe they got a great deal to try it?
Perhaps the company has some better 3rd party tests, like Consumer Reports? FTC? A credible lab? Testimonials are pennies a dozen.

 

Just run a top tier fuel (Top Tier Gasoline) and do your regular maintenance. I've run top tier (won't tout a brand) for years, and everyone I know who has switched gets an immediate 5-10% gas mileage improvement. Even without the improvement, it's worth it just to keep your engine clean without having to play with additives.

 

You may have heard of the 'placebo effect?' After all, it is you who used it and claiming the improvements, right?
Need better evidence than self reporting evidence with a financial gain of the product.

 

Yes, Mileage Maxx works very well for diesel and gas vehicles.
I'm using it with all my co-workers here in Maryland, all of us are happy and enjoy using it.

If Mileage Maxx was not a working Product, I don't think EPA will approve it and put their logo on the manufacturer website.

EPA doesn't approve products. But a good try. To register a product doesn't mean it is a useful product either, just that it meets their standards, nothing more, nothing less.
And, there are many worthless products out there and no one is stopping their sale. So, your logic is faulty.
As to the 'I use it and it works' is like saying that I had a reading from Sylvia Brown and she is for real.'

EPA registration does not means that the product works.
EPA registration's purpose: "Each manufacturer or importer of gasoline, diesel fuel, or a fuel additive, is required to have its product registered by EPA prior to its introduction into commerce. Registration involves providing a chemical description of the product and certain technical, marketing and health-effects information. EPA uses this information to identify products whose emissions may pose an unreasonable risk to public health, warranting further investigation and/or regulation."

The EPA logo cannot be used to imply an endorsement. Check EPA's FAQ:
"Is it ok for me to link to the EPA Web site from my Web site?
EPA is happy to have anyone link to our site from personal or organizational Web sites, as long as EPA endorsement or approval is not implied. For the same reason, we do not provide links from our site back to yours."

 

Thank you to the chatters who have exposed the truth about this topic, F8L, fuzzy1, CharlesJ, and others. With the mpg that a Prius gets I don't understand why anyone would take a chance on possible damage to their vehicle to possibly get a couple more mpg.

 

I doubt that there is any magic juice that will improve the mileage of current cars.

That said, a water/alcohol injection device that is engineered as part of the total system can provide increased power over what could be done without the water/alcohol.

The 1964 Oldsmobile F85 Jetfire came from the factory with an injection system that used "Turbo Rocket Fluid". That's GM's term for what must have been a water/alcohol mix. The water/alcohol system kicked in along with the turbo charger at maximum throttle. I never heard of another major production vehicle with similar injection, so I guess the experiment was regarded as a failure. But that F85 really took off when the turbo/injection system got cranking.

The function of the alcohol/water injection and turbocharger was to allow use of a smaller engine than would otherwise have been required for the power output. Rather like the electric motors and traction battery provide on the Prius. Both designs allow use of an engine designed for efficiency at normal power levels, while providing a brief period of extra power when required.

Nobody is force to use Mileage Maxx, or to buy a Hybrid Car. They're so many ways to save money on gas. All this is about saving money and getting better result.
People buy hybrid cars to save money on gas and go green, other buy Mileage Maxx to save money on gas, get better performance and go green.
I haven't seen where somebody using a hybrid car complained that a hybrid vehicle is not good for gas mileage and I haven't seen where somebody using Mileage Maxx complained about it. one thing is clear, if everybody is using Mileage Maxx, the hybrid market will go down. with the 30 days money-back guaranteed on Mileage Maxx, it worth to try Mileage Maxx if you don't have money to afford for a hybrid vehicle, and if you have hybrid vehicle and think to use mileage maxx, you'll be doing Double Saving. R u kidding me? (this guy sounds like a broken record, continuously coming back to "plug" his idea of what this product does and doesn't do). Give it a rest mate. The majority of us that purchased Hybrids (and the reason we are all here on PriusChat) is because we are tired of paying high prices for gasoline/petrol. In addition, the whole oil industry thing......part of the benefactor that your company sells that stuff for, is preventing the idea of becoming/going greener.

No one forced you to lie about the EPA's 'approval' of this product, but you did in your previous post. That 'approval' is merely a registration required for all fuel additives, without regard to whether or not they work.
