Hey spiderman, suicide? Come on... Take it easy... Relax... Just because I have issues with my Prius it does not mean my life is ruined. This is just a car.... I really feel like I should complaint about its problems but this is no different from complaining about any other gadget I buy. It just means I won't repeat the same mistake twice, but life is beautiful, fully enjoy it, and trust me, issues in car does not prevent me from seizing every joyfull minute of it... Easy mate....

If the rattlesnake rattles the spider(man) may bite.

Then Priuschat gets a little more entertaining.

One day a co-worker asked me how my husband was, "Oh, he's doing good." Then they asked how the Prius was, "I am so in LOOOVVVEEEE with it. My favorite car ever, it makes me so happy!!!!" So then of course he was teasing me that my husband was just good, but my car makes me so happy.

I'm in the exact same boat.

We have an 08 MDX that we love to death. We also had a BMW 328. Lease ended on that, and I'm now in a Prius V. Which is simply the perfect car for sitting in DC traffic and dealing with commutes/city dwelling in general. The BMW, great car as it was, was ultimately a waste.

And yes, the MDX on road-trips is unbeatable.

I just want to point out to those that may be reading this post and not going back to the beginning to review the poll results, over 85% of the responders either love or like their Prii a lot.

This is indeed a very impressive approval rate… As with any product, there are people satisfied with it, others not so much, and others that absolutely hate it. Unfortunately, I'm fitting the second category with my Prius. My only problems with it are that its price does not reflect its overall quality (especially interior) and general maintenance is much more expensive than I projected. In my opinion, I'm paying a high price for great fuel efficiency. Nevertheless, Toyota clearly did a nice job with the 2010 Prius judging by the volume of sales in Japan and in the US. It’s a great thing to drive a car which general acceptance has been outstanding. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

I have to say I love my car. Set the cruise at 80 and relax. Its quiet, smooth, has a great stereo, and keeps going without requiring repairs. Even the maintenance is non existent compared to other cars. Its hard to imagine why other people would not love this car.

Just curious... what is you HWY MPG when driving the at 80 MPH, since you mentioned it? Wonder what it is in a warm climate, like where you live, FL.

Best car I've ever owned! And I've owned a lot of cars in my 45 years of driving. Most importantly, it's the cleanest/kindest to the environment. Won't trade it in until we can PLUG IN.

This is a poll on a site for Prius fanatics. And with about 1500 views there are only a little over 100 people that have even bothered responding. I don't think anyone would put too much significance to the results so far. How many 2010 Prius sales so far? Well over 50,000?

Really not sure why someone who owns a 2010 would bother viewing this without at least clicking on the poll and making a vote.

This is the reason I said like it alot. 17's should be an option on the IV, better yet, standard.

It's also just not as much fun to drive as my Trans Am.;)

Good point, looking from that perspective... what appears to be a great approval rate becomes very disappointing considering 9 people so far either hates it or said it’s OK. Notice that an option “don’t like it” is not available… that would actually be my preference… I don’t hate it and don’t think it is OK either… I just don’t like it for what I think it should be... just great FE was not everything I was expecting...

Didn't think about that. Me too. So maybe there are only a hundred or so 2010 Prius owners really on PC??? So much for the accuracy of any of the opinion polls. There are probably 49,900 other owners out there complaining about noises wondering if they made the right choice.

That's why I'm really curious to see what CR and other trustworthy sources will have to say about the car after a while, say by the end of next year. The interior quality in the 2010 was its biggest mistake, I can't be the only one not satisfied wit it, we shall see...

You're not the only one not enamored by the interior. I've stated a few times in other posts my concerns about the quality of interior construction and materials. The extensive use of plastics. Easy to scratch and hard to the touch. The snap-together construction. As an aside, some of the interior design elements, ergonomics, and drab color combinations should also be mentioned. I do "love" the mechanics/hybrid and the exterior design and quality. But skimping interior-wise is apparent.

For myself, I did rate "Love it" - but was close to "Like it a Lot" check due to the interior lackings. BTW, I am waiting for the creaks and rattles to begin - my ratings would certainly slip then. Toyota better address these issues on the '11 as the Hybrid competition will be increasing. Can't rest on laurels. Watch out for Hyundai. They have taken on some markets with wonderful models - highly rated, reliable, nice designs, outstanding quality, at a value pricepoint. Kind of sounds like Toyota years ago. Hyundai could come out with a Prius-beater and change the game.

Dean, well said. I'm glad you mentioned Hyundai. My first car in the US, almost 10 years ago was a Hyundai Elantra. Wonderful experience with it, despite of colleagues at that time trying to convince me it was bad idea to buy an Elantra instead of a Civic or Corolla. I sold that Elantra to a friend who could not be happier, still running with over 200K miles and trouble-free. Impressive! The real problem of Hyundai today is that despite of offering a better value than Toyota and Honda, they have a lower resale value, so in the end of day the total cost of ownership is the similar or worse. Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that Hyundai did not have a good start in the US with they first cars, therefore, the poor reputation is still alive. That would be the explanation for the low resale value, it takes many years to change the public opinion on certain things, but as far as reliability is concerned, I think Hyundais are pretty competitive with Hondas and Toyotas.

I'm one of those guys that couldn't (still can't yet) bring myself to look at a Hyundai. Reputations takes a while to change. They do have some interesting designs right now. Before (and still now to some extent) they simply copied other cars. At least they copied nice designs. Same with VW when they decided to make a $75,000 luxury car. Didn't do well. Who wants a VW luxury car, regardless of how nice it was. Subaru, Honda and all of them started out with inferior products but they hit a nitch in the market that kept them going. The Koreans seem to be on a fast learning curve and there is a whole new gereation of buyers that don't know or care about a reputation 10 years old. I can't wait until hybrids are everywhere. For now though I just can't bring myself to look at a car that gets less than 35 mpg on average. And there are only a handfull that can do that with a mixed driving cycle
