There are plenty of references to the contents of TSB BR001-07 Brake Actuator Noise in PriusChat, but I haven't found a link to the TSB itself. Does anyone have such a link?
I posted the link to Galaxee's original post, but for some reason, it went to your post which has exactly the same title. I fixed the link above, but just in case, here is another copy of the TSB.
Thanks for trying, but Adobe Reader couldn't open the file. The error message said that the file may have been damaged during e-mailing (or words to that effect). Could you please try attaching the file once more?
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of this thread, and click on the link to Galaxee's original thread. It should be the first link. I think the reason the link I posted didn't work is because this thread has exactly the same title. The PDF I posted downloads and opens fine for me.
It opened just fine with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.0 Make sure your version of Reader is fully up to date
Actually, the document was produced using Acrobat Distiller for HP-UX. Any version of Reader +3 should work fine
I've got this problem with my '08 Prius. The dealer says the car is "fine and functioning as intended". Any thoughts on how to get this fixed? I called out to Corporate and they are having the issue looked at. Don't quite trust the dealer service group at this point ...
I told the service manager at my dealership that I was getting the brake actuator noise on an intermittent basis. Although there was no noise when the technician checked out the car, the service manager went ahead and ordered a new accumulator so that the repair would be done before the expiration of the 3 yr./60,000 km comprehensive warranty. I'm bringing in the car next week. It's clear that some dealerships are much more willing to perform warranty work than others.
I had the problem, brought in the bulletin and they bleed my breaks. I don't even know if they performed a test. Just go to another dealer if your having problems with yours. The one I went to was Herb Chambers on Brighton Ave in Boston.
Just developed this issue in the past 2K miles. Had the dealer bled the system and now it is even worse! Was once and awhile...now all the time? I am thinking there is a symantic issue in the TSB....there can't be that many bad actuators out there....I noticed Toyota mentions bleed the system and my receipt states brakes bled....does anyone know if you can bleed the actuator? Maybe there air gets stuck inside of there? Just a thought....
