I'm at 250 miles on a 2010 Prius, still trying to figure out a lot of the electronic display stuff and the Owner's Manual comes up short in places. In particular, I am confused about the Best Consumption display. It was working fine and I figured out how to set it, but now, whenever I check there, it only displays a couple of dashes - as if it's not computing it, or hiding the information somewhere. Can anyone help with this?
Every time you reset Trip A or Trip B, it will record your best mpg so if you reset the best mpg, it'll probably read nothing or dashes (I'm just guessing since I've never resetted mine). So try driving around then reset Trip A or B and it should come up again. Btw, you might wanna fix your profile. The Prius I isn't for sale (fleet only) so if you bought a base model, you probably have a II.
I reset both Trip A and B, and have been driving around quite a bit (~60 miles) since doing so, but both Trip A and B "best consumptions" still both read dashes. Thanks for the tip on updating my profile.
I believe the Best Consumption displays after you have done a second reset of A or B. It's showing the best of previous trip readouts, not best of the current ones. p 197 & 198 in the manual.
