i have a 2004 prius--pkg2or 3--and have 117000 miles on the vehicle. i want to buy a new car and am continually told that my vehicle is not worth much--maybe $4-6000 because the 100000 battery warranty is gone and the battery can go any minute.thus, customers are wary and the dealers do not want to replace the battery. i am not inclined to sell it privately because if the battery does go after i sell it to a private party--even if i warn them-- i could end up with a major headache! any observations/information from you veteran and knowledgeable prius owners would be greatly appreciated. how much does a new battery cost? i noted one person said they had already replaced a battery. is this common after 100000 miles. my car has been no trouble over the 6 years i've owned it. thanks in advance. indpocket
