    I am a 65 year old (as of 2023) mechanical engineer who has done a lot of computer work over the years, and have been working on cars since I was about 14 years old. Just a handyman, not a professional mechanic, but have a pretty good sense for cars, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, etc. Have worked to some extent on most every system in a car.

    First car was a 1969 Datsun 2000 Roadster. Had a 1969 Datsun 1600 Roadster also. 1969 Alfa Romeo GTV (European). 1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV. 1976 SAAB EMS. Many SAAB 900s, including naturally aspirated and turbocharged. 1972 BMW Bavaria. 2000, 2003 VW New Beetle TDIs (automatic and manual). 1976 Porsche 914. 1996 Ford Mustang GT Convertible, 4.6 L V8 5 Speed. 2001 Ford Taurus Wagon. 2004 Prius. 2006 Prius. 2012 Prius. Plymouth Voyager Minivan. Ford Aerostar Van. Etc.
