2006 Prius passed from mother to daughter.( photo 2 of 2) now the daughter has to pay for lower priced car parts ie ( condenser ) installed the body shop and pay in more ways then one. lost fuel economy over the life of the car!. With the high pressure so high and gets higher on hot days it takes MORE WATTS of power from the battery to run the a/c and cycles the BATTERY more often lowering its life cycle, another added cost to the customer. WAIT THAT"S NOT ALL!!! this also puts a high stain on the tiny hard working compressor to burn up faster $$$ . Wait not finished yet it gets better ( for the shops selling parts ) later on hot days the customer will complain that their air conditioning dose not work well on hot days. The owner takes it to a shop , maybe they just do a recharge and think that will take care of the problem , but the customer returns HOT. Then maybe the shop replaces something but not the condenser, MORE $$$ but that dose not fix the problem. All because someone down the line save some money ie ( body shop, repair shop, Insurance company!). Evan many A/C repair shop that sell the cheaper parts do not know this is a problem, " now that's dangerous. there are many in the automotive industry that do not even know what they do not know!. " and many have been doing this for 20 or 30 years thats even more scary or disgusting. What is more expensive EDUCATION or IGNORANCE ?!. Who ends up paying the price in the end YOU the customer. I think of my own family members cars after a insurance company tells a body shop to use cheaper parts on the car and later ends up costing the the owner of the car more later.
