I want your car polish- how the heck did you get such a great reflection?!?!?

I've babied the finish since day one. I polish with Optimum prodicts and with Menzerna Nano Polish using a random orbital attachment to a Makita rotary machine. Mostly Lake Country foam pads, but there are newer prodicts coming out all the time. The rotary I've used to correct other cars, but mine has never been scratched or swirled through careless washing, etc.

I wash with Optimim's No Rinse in winter months in my garage after hosing off major dirt and use a foam gun in warmer weather outside. I wash all my microfiber cloths and towels after one use. In other words, I'm compulsive. I've done a bit of semi-professional detailing at times (been paid, but never hung a shingle).

I find that polishing is the most important step. After polishing, I put on a sealant - I've used both Optimum Opti-seal and Ultima Paint Guard Plus. Then at times I follow with a high quality wax, although it is not any more protective than the sealants, just gives a 'deeper' shine.

It's a lot of work, really, but I enjoy it and love the results.

Happy to answer any additional questions.

I order a Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant and arriving this week.
I am thinking of washing and put the Sealant straight. Is that a right approach?
Even though I love your quality refliction, I have Blizzard pearl and using my hand, so I do not expect that much shine.

Putting a sealant on a washed surface won't give you much more shine. Shine comes from polishing. Sealants and waxes mainly protect, but may add a little more 'depth'. It is possible to polish by hand , it just takes longer and tires you out if you're not in good shape.

There are forums where the intricacies of detailing (that is washing, polishing, etc.) are discussed at great length. If you go to autopia.com, you will find a wealth of information (as well as many products). There is nothing wrong with Meguiars products and they are more readily available at retail locations. The ones I mentioned are available online at autopia.com and autogeek.com.
