    Hi all,
Wrote Franklin @ Hybrid Effects about a grille block for 2010 and though they don't have one, he said if someone would allow him the use of one for a pattern he would give them one for free. See message below:

Well we have not really done any research on if the 2010 prius even needs a grille block. But I would geuss from your email that the car could use one. I would make a grille block for that car immediately if I had a 2010 prius to use as a guide for the prototype. If you find someone that is local to the Lynchburg Virginia or maybe even some one in the east coast area from va to fla and they were willing to let me use there car I could give them a free grille block to let me use there car.

    Thanks Franklin

Sounds better than the raccoon. Installing the raccoon is easy enough (left over Halloween candy or pet food) but keeping them there is a challenge:

It completely depends on how fast you're going when you hit the raccoon as to how well it stays there.;)

Apparently not although I saw another post just recently reiterating the offer.

I just bought a single piece of 1" pipe foam which, when slit in half lengthwise, provides enough for 100% bottom and 50% top blocking.

$1.23 + tax. Close enough to free...

Looking forward to what you come up with. I too wanted to put something on the back side of the grill but I just couldn't get there without removing everything (bumper skirt, etc). Please document well! :)

Consider this: For the Gen II ... it'll cost maybe $8 in plumbing foam to grill block. Hybrid effects charges over $150 ... and you STILL have to install it your self. Now I don't know how creative other folks are ... but $150 makes SOME folks here on PC get pretty creative.

    ;)

What would be cool to do is replace the entire black grill insert with something else. That something else having adjustable (manual or mechanical) vents (open/close). hmmm. Or even add hinged flaps on the back of the grill with someway to open/close them. I suspect the insert would just pop out once the bumper skirt is off. I believe someone has removed the skirt... just can't remember who or why.
