I received my Pruis in mid September. I never received my cargo net. It is on backorder. Dealer said they are on hold as the weight on items put into the net makes the anchors on the side on truck pull out oof the sides and causing damages. Has anyone else run across this problem:(

That is true. Toyota did have a stop on the release/sale of cargo nets but it was released today and dealers are allowed to put cargo nets on new vehicles.

So it should be in very soon.

    Re: 2010 Pruis cargo net

Hmmm, my Prius is a few weeks old now (maybe 4) and I had a cargo net in it on delivery... Do you think that was a mistake of the dealer not taking it out? Did they do something different to strengthen the attachment points now or did they just officially OK the old design?

    Thanks,
    Bill

Do a quick search of the site (google is probably a better engine than the site's search function). You should be able to find a picture of the new hooks.

Is the top part of your cargo net attached to metal hooks that are held by the same screws near the locking position for the tonneau cover? If so, then you have the "new", more secure hook points.

If not, then you have the plastic hooks that are attached to the plastic piece slightly inboard from the edge of the cargo area and that's the original, not-so-secure hook points.

    Thanks Tideland!

I couldn't find pictures of the new metal clips but I saw pictures of the old style and went out to the car and sure enough I have the new clips that fit your description. :D

For what it is worth - I removed the cargo net and top anchor attachments from my old 06 Prius and installed it in my new 2010 Prius. I drilled holes in the hard plastic portion right below where the phillips screw is located and just popped in the old anchors and it seems to work fine "so far".

I took delivery of my car in August and it had the new style cargo net hooks installed by the port. Apparently some of the dealers didn't get the word yet.
