I was catching up on some DVR'd TV programs last night and noticed on The Office that Ed Helms' character, Andy upgraded from his Gen 2 Prius to a spankin' new 2010 Gen 3. Those of you who watch the show regularly know that Andy's 2nd Gen Prius was somewhat of an extension of Andy's character and has played a prominent role in a few scenes. This is the first time I can recall this fall seeing a 2010 Prius on a television show. I believe I remember seeing one in an episode of The Closer from this summer, but it was more of a product placement than a "character". I think we can expect to see more of Andy's 2010 Prius in future Office episodes. Have you had any other 2010 Prius spottings on television this fall?
Not sure if it was a 2010 but Dexter's neighbor set up a Prius to roll into someone's yard. There is often a Prius rolling past on Ghost Whisperer.
There are some Gen II's in Californication, Weeds, and Desperate Housewives. I actually think I seen a Gen III on Desperate Housewives, not sure. I think I watch too much television.
Yeah. And House's psychiatrist has a Gen III. Even though all I saw was the back taillights on Episdode 1 of this season when he was closing the hatch door.
Desperate Housewives showed a Blue Ribbon V driven 10/11 by the new family in town (wife speaks with NY accent).
Anyone watching the series Royal Pains, their where quite a few cheap promo's for the Gen 3. Some with options that aren't available the the US market.
Interesting tidbit on these promos... Generally speaking, OEMs have to pay to get their cars into these programs, sometimes a pretty penny if it's well integrated. But almost always with Prius, it's the studios asking us for the vehicles, and very little or no money. That's one of the nice perks about having been so warmly received by Hollywood. He had a Gen II in the last Season as well. Figure Charled Epps from Numbers will get a 2010 as well for the new season. The Gen II had plenty of exposure on that show in the past.
I noticed Andy's Gen 3 right away (I watched my DVR episode last night too). Then there was a red Gen 2 in the background when he was in the parking lot. I rewound and replayed just to make sure it was Gen 2...my family thinks I am crazy. I laughed when I saw your post...at least I am not alone in being crazy.
I think I saw one on Castle too, a GenIII. Royal Pains, the one who is his on/off girlfriend traded a Saab for a Gen III, a nice upgrade if I may say so.
Last night on The Office, there was a scene shot from the interior of Andy's Prius, where he and Pam were having a conversation. Looks like he chose dark gray for the interior. Because it's a better color to film from within, perhaps?
Just saw the new episode of "Californication"; Karen is driving a 2010 in Blue Ribbon Metallic (just like mine ), probably a IV or V since it had leather seats.
Leonard in The Big Bang Theory obviously drives a Prius 2010. Well, not obviously, because you never see the full car. But from the interior you can make up that it's a Prius 2010.
I was with my mom this am and saw The Price is Right (trying) to give one away. There was a Segway and a dune buggy like vehicle...the woman bid $15000! Tonight for Top Chef the prize was a beautiful Gen III!!
