Feh, around 8:30am this morning, at a rest stop along the Trans Canada, between the Lac Du Bonnet turn and the Falcon Lake turn

Check out the road conditions. I had to turn back near the Ontario border due to a bad accident.

The storm was forecast yesterday, so to play it safe I slapped on the new studded tires. I've never put winter tires on so early around here

Jimmie and Jayman, have you noticed that every record set on the warm end of the scale is shouted out and presented as further evidence of how serious 'cliimate change' has become?

THEN, when records are set on the cool side, it's just a normal 'weather' anomaly within the greater realm of 'climate'. We can't accurately predict future 'weather' for more than a week or so, but 'climate', oh, THAT we can predict out for a hundred years!

The true believers in Saint Al want it both ways. After it cools for a decade or two - and all the dire predictions made in the IPCC models have failed even more miserably than at present - they'll STILL be here predicting disaster because you, Jayman, drove your FJ Cruiser and you, Jimmie, spent to much time and burned too many electrons at your computer posting meaningless photos.

    Shame on you. :)

Speaking of data, its importance, who controls it, who should be able to see it, who pays for it, etc., etc.

The Dog Ate Global Warming by Patrick J. Michaels on National Review Online=

Imagine if there were no reliable records of global surface temperature. Raucous policy debates such as cap-and-trade[IMG] would have no scientific basis, Al Gore would at this point be little more than a historical footnote, and President Obama would not be spending this U.N. session talking up a (likely unattainable) international climate deal in Copenhagen in December.

Steel yourself for the new reality, because the data needed to verify the gloom-and-doom warming forecasts have disappeared.

Well, the first half of September we did break warm temp records. That didn't make up for our record breaking cold and wet summer, though it did help the mosquito eggs hatch like crazy

This sudden winter blast, which ruined my moose hunting trip and left me in a grumpy mood, caught a lot of folks by surprise. I've never put winter tires on so early, though here for studded tires we're allowed to run them Oct 1 - April 30

Usually, most of Oct should be in the 50's with the occasional heavy frost. I doubt that putting an average of 6,000 km a year on the FJ is going to change things either way (Although I did put 12,000 km on it last summer shuttling my pops back and forth to the Mayo Clinic)

Hmm, so I guess with all the record cold temps in one area of the world right now indicates that the globe is cooling, and not warming?

Or could it be that the climate that results from anthropogenic CO2 emissions actually results in drastic climate change which can result in both record warm and record cold temperatures?

So I'll say it again - Weather is not Climate.

Which is why when looking at temperature trends, scientists are looking at world-wide temperatures averaged over decades and longer and how that will affect the climate and weather - not isolated instances of cold or heat (though both are more likely to occur with climate change).

So never mind that the last 12 years in Canada has actually been experiencing record warm temperatures and that 5 of the warmest years on record have occurred in the past 10. We'll just ignore all that and declare climate change debunked since there's been an early start to winter this year. Problem solved!

This was actually predicted. Long sustained extreme weather patterns was a recognized likely effect of Global Warming because of weakening of the jet stream. This extreme localized cooling began in June and is still occurring in October...while the oceans remain toasty.

I'm gonna raise the big BULL SH&T flag on your so called weather is not climate. You see, This whole deal is nothing but a religion on a certain low number of hippies from the 60's in the USA trying to push a political agenda. Thats all this whole thing means. Weather changes all the time. We will always have nice warm summers and cold as hell winters.

Of course, It NEVER gets below freezing in San Diego Kommiefornia.

I'm calling "bullshit" on all of your posts on the subject. Local weather is not climate!

Your beliefs are nothing more than religion and your avatar reveals an unprecedented level of stupidity.

    Stupidity? I don't think so....

Here is a few links for you to check out, I bet this will be swept under the rug as it would create a serious blow to the GW "agenda"

Mann-made Warming Confirmed - Chris Horner - Planet Gore on National Review Online=

    - Bishop Hill blog - The Yamalimplosion

    Speaking of manipulating data...
Remember James Hansen? He's Al Gore's mentor. He's also one of the chief scientists for atmospheric studies at NASA.
He also has been changing historical data to "prove" it's getting warmer.

Dr. James Hansen: Unethically Manipulating The Data (Global Warming Junk Science) 84RULES

    More lies?
The world has never seen such freezing heat - Telegraph

    <snip>
A surreal scientific blunder last week raised a huge question mark about the temperature records that underpin the worldwide alarm over global warming. On Monday, Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore's chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

This was startling. Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China's official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its "worst snowstorm ever". In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.

So what explained the anomaly? GISS's computerised temperature maps seemed to show readings across a large part of Russia had been up to 10 degrees higher than normal. But when expert readers of the two leading warming-sceptic blogs, Watts Up With That and Climate Audit, began detailed analysis of the GISS data they made an astonishing discovery. The reason for the freak figures was that scores of temperature records from Russia and elsewhere were not based on October readings at all. Figures from the previous month had simply been carried over and repeated two months running.

    <snip>

Nothing like getting caught in a bold faced lie!

It's like I've stated, The whole GW theory is made up, Propaganda BS. The hippies from the 60's like control on peoples lives... What better way to do that than to run for office and "push" the agenda.

It's simple, Cap & Tax will force Americans deeper into debt and will make oil & gas companies run off to other countries. Does that NOT sound like control on people?

    Great - another ufourya.

Mistakes happen. Which is why I'm glad there are people reviewing the results (even if some of the most publicized ones like WUWT and CA seem to attract the worst of the denialists). For some reason, one mistake seems to give denialists reason to completely debunk all studies. After all, if one has a problem, then all the rest must be false as well!

My only regret is that these efforts will only delay any productive efforts to minimize the effects of AGW until it's too late.

AGW Saint Al Gore is still terrified of anyone questioning his false claims of global catastrophe:

...In what organizers said was a rarity, Gore took half a dozen questions from journalists, including one from Phelim McAleer, an Irish filmmaker who asked Gore to address nine errors in his film identified by a British court in 2007.
Gore responded that the court ruling supported the showing of his film in British schools. When McAleer tried to debate further, his microphone was cut off by the moderators.

I'm adding it to my list of topics that are a waste of time to argue about on the internet: politics, religion, Mac vs. PC, and now AGW.
