Cusco Center Power Brace Group Buy?

What's involved in the installation of the sway bars? I could certainly be interested. Careful about group buys. The last one I participated in involved pro audio gear and ended up picking up a couple semi loads of gear and probably totaled better than $300K. Grew like a weed - way beyond what the original sponsors were really prepared to handle. Shipping from the US to Australia and Europe was a pain as well.

 

You're right, it's not absolutely rock solid. I guess there's always room for improvement...

I haven't driven one with 15" tires, but the suspension is the same. I would think the only differences would be a little more flex or rollover in the tires, and perhaps just a bit less stability. Most people seem to be raving about the new handling, with or witout the low profile tires. It's definitely orders of magnitude better than my 2004 was, though with maybe still just a tiny, tiny bit of wander at highway speeds.

 

I guess they never drove a Gen II Prius. The strut tower brace and center brace do make a difference. Thing about sway bars, you have to match front and back or you can create more understeer/oversteer.

I think the handling on my 2010 III is decent. I've driven much worse before... and really I can tell the tires really let it down. Put on some sticky tires with stiffer sidewalls and I bet things will improve dramatically.

 

So, does that mean that if you change out one, you also need to change out the other?

 

I do believe I read somewhere, maybe it was Sigma that the Gen. III's don't have rear sway bars, just front. The rear would have to be a retro fit which didn't sound like it was too difficult, but that of course depends on your mechanical ability.

 

I'm interested in sway bar upgrades (rear only? or F/R?). Also, I had heard that there is no rear sway bar, so how exactly would one install an aftermarket?

 

I can't believe the front and rear sway bars are $280 each!...zomG!

 

My g iii v with 17" wheels handles reasonably well im very surprised far too much body roll though rear beefy stab bar would add big dividends its a lot more fun driving a slow car fast than driving a fast car slow this car can been lots of fun its very important it to keep up monmentum why slow up to much just because its gettin twisty we only got about 140hp to work, with my 672lb kawasaki c14 has about 168bhp im a fast lane guy all the way my car has great on center steering feel @75-85mph it just needs a little more dampning a little tightening up chassis dynamics are state of the art as all are today ride will suffer as structure becomes more rigid its always a trade off ill pay for a little more whos got the bars???
