Gave it the day off from work (worked from home), checked the fluids, conditioned the leather on the driver's seat, and drove to and from the gym.

What I WILL do to my Prius today, is drive it to Portland, to the Convention center, park it, hopefully, near other Priuses, and attend the VegFest 2009

    See ya there! :p

Today I broke down and read part of my owner's manual - the page that tells how to reset the oil change alert. I had to do this because the dealer failed to do it when I had my oil changed. Instead, they reset my odometer for me, which I really didn't want them to do.

Anyway, I successfully reset the alert, and I've somehow found a way to move on from my odometer reset grief.

I had my learner driver son drive me across Adelaide to my work place. I was working today but worked from home. I needed some documents. I haven't checked the fuel consumption since but it was at 4.0L/100km before we left, I doubt it as good as that now.
We also dropped in to see mum on the way home.

Hey, me too. A coat of Zaino Z-5, Z-8 and Z-CS (Clear Seal) made her look wet and shiny.

Removed wheel covers. Washed him in Dawn and blow dried with the leaf blower. Applied Zaino All-In-One. Wiped off. Mixed Zaino Z-2 with ZFX accelerator and applied. Cleaned windows and solar roof with Armor-All Auto Glass cleaner. Cleaned spoiler and headlight/taillight covers with Meguiar's PlastX. Wiped off Z-2. Applied and wiped Z-6. Wiped wheel covers with Z-6 and put them back on the wheels (much harder than getting them off). Drove him to El Mariachi for dinner. He didn't come in with us though.

Told it to play CD disk # 3. It almost always pays attention to my commands, and never gives me any sass. ;)

    I filled the tank:

    • configured iPod touch as a recorder
    • at every 0.1 mile point, called out miles and MPG
    • drove neighborhood route to Shell station
    • filled up
    • transcribed data into a spreadsheet
    • puzzled at the data
    • using Google Earth to track route elevation
Ran 'hill climb' test at 55 mph from Tennessee River and got Consumer Reports MPG to the top, 32 MPG. I love it when a plan comes together.

Sprayed and wiped down interior and all glass.

Just used my finger nails to remove them. Heat them well enough and it comes of easily then remove the residue with WD-40. :)

Did another wipe-down with Z-6 because he gets dirty overnight. Then finished with Clear Seal. (I don't really like Clear Seal that much -- I find it hard to judge if I'm putting on too much or too little and I don't really see a noticable difference in shine.)

Took him out for a nice long run and took a few photos. I probably drove about 60 miles but still only averaged around 51mpg because of all the hill-climbing. It seems there are a lot more uphills than downhills. There were a few stretches of dirt roads, so when I got back he was covered in a fine layer of dust and I had to wipe him down again with Z-6.

So glad to hear you are able to take your son and visit your mum. I'm certain it does her heart good to see such great reminders of her man!

I was reunited with my Prius today! I brought her home from the body shop and just stared!

I was thankful for the tight and sure handling (in comparison to the Corolla rental) and a bit upset at the lack of auto-lights (again, in comparison to the Corolla rental).

Also, I tested out the new horns I put on at the body shop. No, not those kinds of horns -- the ones that make sounds when you push on the center of the steering wheel!

I said hi to dad, he is in a box in the book shelf. My son will only go see his grandma under protest.

So not this kind of horns?

Just keep taking him. He will have only so many chances to see her in this life. Some of us never had such opportunities!

    Not quite! More like these:
    [IMG][IMG]

The one on the left is a low tone, and the one on the right is the high tone.

I can't give you the sounds made when I press the switch, but here are the separate tones:

Low Tone and High Tone. Please "note" these links give you the opportunity to save a file directly from the FiammAmerica website. Take your own precautions, if you'd like, but the files have been fine for me. I don't know how to upload wav files, otherwise I'd do a better job of providing the sound.

A Priori, if you put THESE horns on your car, people might actually NOTICE you, and NOT run their vehicles into you!
