    A few comments-
Solar works best at the correct angle to the sun. It's not smart to put them on a car and not get the most vaue out of them. Put solar on your home, not car.

If you made the car lighter it would be better than making it solar powered. Vehicles are way to heavey. RMI did a study and weight is the biggest issue, not aero dynamics. 99% of the energy moves the vehicle and 1 % moves you.

The reason they don't sell small efficient vehicles in the US is because our fuel is subsidied. The US pays $2.50-3 a gallon but the real cost of $10-12 like they pay in Europe. As soon as we stop helping the billion dollar prfoit big oil companies we will have light wefficient vehicles !

Well, it is vice versa. I would say that fuel in USA is not much taxed, while here in the EU it is overtaxed. More than 50% of the retail gas price in EU goes to government, which of course spends the money on million stupid ways.

I agree that higher fuel prices in EU promote more fuel efficient cars. But on other side, I see European governments as too oil dependent as they get quite a lot of their tax revenues from fuel taxes. So migration to non oil economy is actually something they will resist, while in US the only guys resisting will be the oil companies and of course some stupid car companies. In interesting times we are living. ;)

You've hit the nail on the head here. That's why there are so many tax incentives for a Prius in the US yet hardly any over here. In the UK tax amounts to 70% of the cost of petrol. Nice to know the Government invest this money so wisely

Actually, tax incentives on the Prius ran out years ago here in the US.
