Silver is a great color choice and easy color to keep look clean.

All our cars in the past 10 years have been silver, so we decided on Blizzard Pearl this time around.

 

Car's nice. But I'm really admiring the clean garage. I've got 35 years of junk in mine

 

I am using Zaino sealants... a relatively unknown small company which makes the best car protection products. Easy to apply and remove. It's just time consuming initially as you have to set a bit before applying more coats.

 

Hi again. I went to the Zanio site and they recommend mixing Z-2 Pro with ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator and then after removing the polish/wax, you spay with Z-6 Gloss Enhancer. Is that the process you did? Did it leave any swirl marks?

If you have a light colored car, Z-2 is recommended... Z-5 is for dark colors. ZFX is strongly recommended as it allows you to apply more coats more often as it bonds faster. Remember that you apply Zaino in extremely thin coats, like a film. It is NOT a wax so you do not apply it thickly like waxes. A few drops should cover a 2x2 sq ft area.

ZFX comes in an extremely small vial and some mixing bottles. I add Zaino till it fills about 1/5-1/6 of the mixing bottles and then add two-three drops of accelerant and shake about a minute. That 1/5 bottle of Zaino gives me 3-4 coats of Zaino on the Prius. I use the Z-6 in between coats.

Do not use more than three coats a day as the Zaino has to set. After the Z-2/Z-5, I also use the Zaino Clear Seal. 15-20 pumps will cover the entire car. You spray a couple of pumps onto the applicator and wipe it on the car. A thin rainbow colored film will be left on the car. If you cannot see the rainbow film, you wiped it all off. The film will bond to the paint in about 15-30 minutes and the rainbow hue will disappear.

Zaino does not leave any swirl marks but it will still show any swirl marks that were on the car earlier...

BTW, the car has about 30 coats of Z-2 and 10 coats of Z-CS... (I'm really sick...)

 

I went ahead and got the Zaino products and love what they're doing. I have Barcelona red- Z2 or Z5?

I Dawn washed, clayed, rewashed, and got on 1 coat of Z-5 and Z-8 before leaving town. I will put on 2 more coats of Z-5, Z-8 and finish with Z-CS on Sunday and post pics. I cal tell that the following coats will go on MUCH thinner and easier now that the finish is really slick. I drove to and from work in a pouring rain the day after getting the first coat on and it looked like I had just washed it when I pulled in the garage. All the grime just slid right off.

is this also recommended to be used on those cars that are delivered with the special coating, some thin plastic layer applied to protect the paint?

 

Mine has the ClearCoat applied at port. I added 2 coats of Z-5 and Z-8 interchanged, and topped off with Z-CS (Clear Seal). I think the Z-CS really made the red color deeper and wet looking.

 

I received my car around 2 weeks ago. It is pearl white metallic and is richly equipped (trim 'Premium'). I also had alarm and back sensors (Toyota should have made this standard instead of that useless parking assist) installed by the dealer at extra cost. Have covered about 350km with it, so far so good. It rides quite comfortably on its 15'' wheels (I was thinking about replacing them with 17'' ones, not sure now), but in terms of mileage I'm only getting 0.5 liter/10km, which is quite bit off from the claimed 0.39L/10km.

Enjoyed your Komodo Prius Album. Quick question though. Is it just me or does the interior picture shot seem off in that the top glove compartment looks completely different in colour than the rest of the vinyl?

It's the same color. The shadow starts between to the 2 compartments.
