Interesting. It's enabled on mine and not grayed out, either stationary or while moving. When was your car manufactured?

P.S. Any chance that only model Vs with AT have it enabled (as these settings are required for Intelligent Park Assist)? Can other V owners without AT confirm?

I initially had trouble performing the NAV hack but it turned out I was touching on the blue lines (or too close to them). Did you avoid the lines and touch the areas below and above the blue lines?

If you absolutely still can't do it, Toyota is known to disable Easter eggs (when uncovered by the public) in the middle of a production year, and depending on when the car is manufactured, this might be what's happening. My 2007 Lexus is one of the last vehicles to be able to do the NAV hack (at least for different finger dance sequence than posted here) before they disabled it mid-2006, so you'll find some 2007 RX350 that can do it and some that can't.

Hold the info button and turn on and off your headlights 3 times. [Read somewhere on PC]

I think you hit it right on the head there - probably something accessible only on the V because of the IPA. Mine was manufactured in June, afaik.

You can change the color of the bars in one of the setup screens.

Tried it in every mode possible...I think it's been agreed that it will only work on a V, possibly only a V with IPA. Is it working for anyone who doesn't have a V?

I would really like to get this working on my III...had to haul a mattress yesterday (incidentally I had a twin mattress inside the Prius with the hatch closed) with no visibility out the rear window. Illegal, I know, but having the camera on would have helped a lot.

Assuming I can get this hack to work, and I'm tooling around with the rear camera on the display - how do I turn it off, or back to the default radio/map display?

Hold down DISP and it'll re-boot to the normal mode, or just power off the car and turn it back on.

You have a V with no AT. Let us know if it works on yours or only on Vs with AT.

Just went out and tried the hack. No go. First, the nav screen looks different than in the video on page one of this thread. The icons were much larger and almost touching the top and bottom of the screen, so no room for the "finger dance." Yes, I tried and tried anyway, but kept activating the icons instread. Also, there was only the one line across the top so I think the V w/ Nav has different firmware installed.

On a whim, I also tried the finger dance in various combinations and different parts of that screen, but alas, no joy. There has to be a way to get into the settings. Someone will find it, or read a white paper about it somewhere and then post it. Besides, there remains much more interesting things to hack than the rear camera.

Oh well. I didn't really want to have the rear cam displayed while I was driving, as that's a safety hazard. What I really want is a front camera to keep me from hitting curbs with the front air dam when I park.

You forgot to hit DISP before doing the finger dance.

D'oh! With my aging and failing knees, I may never dance again, but I will retry this tomorrow.

    Move the camera?

I added an aftermarket backup sensor kit that provides range data to the front. It works pretty well on curb detection.

I have a V with no AT -- doesn't work. The camera button is greyed out like others with non-V are seeing. Sadly, I think that confirms it only works with V's with AT package. The search goes on for the rest of us...

Update: With "DISP" pressed, the second line appeared and I finger danced my life away between them for a while. The hidden menu did finally appear, but it was rough going to get it to work. Repeated attempts were also dicey.

So what happened is this - the camera button was greyed out. I tried holding it down for the 3 seconds, and more, tapping, circling, dancing and stabbing it but to no avail. I also tried shifting the car into reverse just in case that did anything. That only allowed me to back up , but the camera menu and display was a no show for me.

Again, I don't really care for a full time backup camera display, but there were some other interesting finds in the second layer of the hidden menu. There is a GPS check area which will display all the satellites that can be recieved, their positions, signal strengths, all in real time. I had 10 or more up on my display, each updating every second.

Yes, one also can affect the microphone pickup gain (the purpose of the video), and even record a small message you can play back to test the volume. All sorts of little gems in there. Worth a try for anyone with a nav system.

I'm going to reiterate that holding the info button while turning the headlights on/off 3 times is a lot easier than doing the finger dance.
