Okay, we've beaten the Chinese horse to death. :deadhorse:

I used my new leaf blower to dry my Prius yesterday for the first time. With a maximum blowing speed of 235mph, it makes me feel armed and dangerous. I'm surprised I was able to hang onto it.

 

I'll inform my older brother of this little known fact. I was the sixth born child of my parents so I guess that makes my older brother Terry Chinese!! My little sister was the eighth born, is she also Chinese?

Thanks. My parents both studied the language (Mandarin) back when I was in high school. That's as close as I got.

I'm just one of those boring European-Americans.

 

We already identified the one in our family, so I'm safe. Saved by statistics!

 

How many children did your parents have? If they have four, good chance that one of them is actually Chinese.

 

I'm the only sane one in my family.

Unless you are the sort of person to use a phrase ambiguously that should not be ambiguous, such as "my older brother, " as if you have only one older brother, when you have more than one older brother, or "my little sister," as if you have only one younger sister, when you have more than one little sister, your family, in birth order must be:

We got the first rain of the season this past weekend. Unfortunately it went away and now it looks like it's going to be hot again later on this week.

 

A pretty lousy start to this year's lambing season. If you raise livestock, you're bound to get some deadstock...

Oh dear. Nobody has posted for 2 days! Did I manage to bore you all to death?

 

I'm doing a study to determine the most cost-effective brand of toilet paper. I have been buying different brands and keeping track of how long a roll lasts. I have made a spreadsheet with the following columns:

• Brand/Description
• Start Date
• End Date
• Days per roll
• Rolls per package
• Price per package
• Price per roll
• Price per day
• Price per year

This study is not yet finished. I am on my sixth brand, and I'm thinking of trying all the ones in the store, so it's going to take a while before I have final results. I notice each one has a different texture. I never knew there were so many possible toilet paper textures. Once I determine which ones are cheapest, then there will probably be a run-off (wipe-off?) to determine which one to buy.

I've pretty much* been buying the same brand for over 20 years. We shall see if that will change.

* "Pretty much" means most of the time, not every single time, not always. I have tried at least one other brand at least once. Please do not quote me as saying that I have never bought a different brand.
