UPDATE: I found a car! Update: I am having WAY to much fun with this. A friend of mine was in Pdx today and decided to try and see if he could find our cars ( he has one on order too). He went on a field trip to the port of portland and found Toyota's car stash. The man is crazy! So I get this upside down picture of a row of tiny cars to my phone. He had to four wheel it across a dirt road, and then perch his cam phone upside down to clear the fence to get this shot. I had to do a small amount of editing on my mac but.... Look, that one on the end... could it be... OMG! ITS MY CAR. :bounce: It looks like my long search is over. I wanted to find a package IV but was a little nervous about affording it anyway so jumped on the chance to put my name on a bona-fide-on-it's-way package III. It has the interior and exterior colors I wanted. Blue with dark interior and Nav. To add gravy, it's at a dealer about 10 minutes from my house and I was able to use the costco deal to get a few bucks knocked off the price. The dealer printed out the inventory sheet from the allocation page online and I can see specific shipping information. I think I remember seeing a thread here that talked about ways to track a specific car as it makes it's journey here. I sure hope I can. This is so exciting! Now I'm working on a list of possible "baby names" for a personalized license ( the money I saved through the costco deal will just cover that) I'm so excited!!! :cheer2:
Yay you!! I was totally OCD tracking my car. I kept htting the refresh button on the internet marine map to see the ship's progress into port. It's worth it - you're gonna love it!
Prius in Latin means "to go before", a good license plate would be: 2GOBE4, TWOGOB4 or 2GOB4, DEPENDING ON HOW MANY ALPHANUMERIC CHARACTERS YOUR STATE ALLOWS! David (aka Blind Guy)
LOL David - I think of how other drivers try to get around a Prius so that it can not "Go Before" them. It would make an amusing plate! Rather like directions for someone following you!
Thanks everyone! I LOVE the plate idea's David. The sheet the dealer gave me lists the vessel name as PYXIS. I tried to look it up on the link on the tracking thread but all I'm seeing is information from about a month ago? Am I doing something wrong? I have a vessel number of 497 and the dealer told me it should be here in around 3 or so weeks. I have no idea how long it takes a ship to tavel from the NW here to Japan and back. Maybe the boat is on it's way to pick up my new baby blue? ^^
PSBLE NAMS 4 UR PLATES: ZAP IT ZAP2IT HMMMMM (FOR THE LACK OF ENGINE SOUND) SHOCKNG CHEP2RN LTL GAS NO BRNR (NO BRAINER) 50 MPG ZOOM NO OPEC SHE WENT 10 GEN3 EZ2DRV EZ2OWN SMRT CAR EVER GRN Whichever ones you don't use I may use, if mine EVER gets here! Joe
Hey! That's great. Congrats! I'm still waiting. Ordered 06/27/09. The dealer called today with a III with SP, but I really want to hold out for the IV. He told me the SP is slow to get to our area. I can't believe in Florida it's slow to get here. Hello.....sunshine state!! Anyway, I've been a Prius fan for 6yrs. I can wait a little longer.
I'll second that! My Virginia plate is TOGOB4. First time I drove it into my garage at work, the attendant asked me how long I had lived there before I moved to DC. I looked at him with a puzzled expression and asked what he meant. He replied "Togo. How long did you live in Togo?" We both had a good laugh over that! Stu
Congratulations Octavia! I am so excited for you. :clap2: It looks like we're all going to get our cars! Bryan
Aye. Ye'd make a fine addition to the three wives I've already got, but I must say I'm at the limit. It's always "Turn to Port" "Turn to Stern" "Do you know where we're at? Why don't ye stop and ask for directions?" "Look out for that U.S. Destroyer there." OOOOh, gotta go.
In case you're interested, our two standard poodles have given their blessing following a couple hour ride in the folded-down back.
Update in post #1. I think I "saw" my car today!!!!!! My newest eta is now the 8th. He told me the cars are in portland and basically they are just waiting until they have a full load to deliver. Their right... cars are in Portland! ( see first post)
