Isn't that just the gap between the hood and the bumper with the black line being the rubber gasket?

I NEED those illuminated doorsills, looks great at night, I know what I'm getting for Christmas! Do you have any more pictures to post up yet? I know there's not much good scenery in Edmonton, but maybe you could just photoshop some Vancouver into the background?

You want them. Yes. They're definitely at the top of the wanted-list. Ya. .Christmas works.. mmmm yes.....

    ....

Who am I kidding, yeah you NEED them :D:p:cool:

You're right about the scenery :glare: but ask and ye shall receive. I don't need to photoshop any Vancouver scenery in. I'll just take a pic of the whole group at the meet :) (Hyo... with clothes on please :p)

Ahh, the Conservatory... The one sight I could think of in Edmonton! Very nice pictures, thank you. I am now wishing even more that I'd shelled out the extra dollars for the sunroof. What are your plans for aftermarket mods?
I think I'll have to be downgraded to highly unlikely for the meet-up, Wreck Beach or not. :p Your car would show mine up anyways!

lol.. The one sight or the only sight? There's no way I can get pics of the Legislature because it's closed grounds. You can walk in but you can't drive in unless you work there. The moonroof is a nice feature. Would prefer if it slid between the roof and the ceiling (yes it'll eat into rear headroom even more) but at least the glass will pull back even more.

Mods? LED licence plate lights. HIDs have arrived. Will need to get them installed. That's about it. Maybe the USB/iPod integration but that's not urgent.

Aww... ok. We welcome all cars. Yours would show up hyo's anyway :p (I gotta stop picking on him or I might get a little sth at the meet lol)

Sorry to hear you can't make it. As for the beach, it's getting kinda cold anyway. Maybe next summer. :)
That's alright, I don't mind hanging out with younger models. ;)

OK, I guess its better late than never, eh?

Anyhow, say hello to the latest addition to my hybrid-only stable: a Sandy Beach Metallic that arrived during the first week of August.

My wife actually picked the color which resembled the color she had picked for her 2007 Prius. I like it too (easy to keep clean).

What's that other car in the background?

That's my winter and hwy champion that the new 3G Prius will do battle with. This time I am quite sure it will not only fare better than its predecessor (a 2007 Prius A) but it will utterly annihilate the HCH-II at least in the winter time grind. ;)

    Mods:

That's the fun part. I will basically install in it everything the 2006 HCH currently has:

    • Solar cooling and Solar battery charger (currently being installed)
    • Blue interior floor illumination
    • Unique electronic rust-inhibitor with impressed current and sacrificial anode (currently being installed)
    • Dual camera video surveillance system (currently being installed)
    • LED DRL high-intensity bulbs
    • Full LED tailights except for reverse lighting
    • Custom TPMS system with individual pressure and temperature readouts
    • Scangauge II (already on it)

Beauty, what package level is your 2010? I've seen every colour but Sandy Beach on the Vancouver streets now, definitely a unique shade. You will have a much easier time maintaining the paint than me with my always dirty looking Blue Ribbon. Do you see many Prii in Whip-An-Egg?
Have fun battling the Civic Hybrid and Prius against each other and I'm looking forward to seeing your mods!

Nice pics!! I've only seen one other Prius and it was in Winter Grey. Looking forward to your LED mods!

Yes, it appears pretty unique. In fact so unique that I had to wait about 3 weeks to get it as no dealer anywhere had it. Its a base package since I like my BT, camera and solar setups better. Besides, I expended much less that way especially after factoring in the $2,000 provincial credit I got two weeks ago. ;)

The white (Blizzard Pearl) is very common around these parts. In fact, the only other Gen 3 Prii I have seen here were Taxis and they were all white. My wife's previous hybrid was a dark blue (magnetic pearl) and it was a monumental pain in the neck to keep clean. Even the slightest bit of dust made it cry "wash me NOW". :p

I haven't heard that name before. Usually we call it Winterpeg. :)

Hey, MSantos, that's the mint in the background, isn't it? That's a neat place, with interesting tours. Oh, and congratulations on your new car. I guess this means Jayman and I are the only holdouts.

Yes, I almost held it off too. Fortunately, the TCI deal tied in with the trade-in and all the other incentives made the deal too good to pass. ;)

Yep, that's the Canadian Mint alright. When people ask me why I always include the Mint in the background, I reply: "That's where the money is".
That is also why I would never take a picture of an FSP with it in the background. :D

Winterpeg, probably a more appropriate name. I don't know, my dad's from there (Transcona) and always called Winnipeg that when I was a kid.
No Gen III taxis here in Vancouver yet! MSantos, do you have a webpage showing your mods on your other cars? I'm always looking for a geeky new car project to waste money on. :D

Yep, over here most taxis are gen 2 Prii. In fact, at times it is VERY hard to find a taxi that is NOT a Prius.

    Mods?
Sure, but please note that most of these mods are geared towards lessening energy use... anyhow, these are the major ones:

    LED DRL's
Custom floor lighting and Direct TPMS
    Solar battery charger
    Active Solar cabin cooling
    Dual tech corrosion inhibitor
Full LED tailights The full review will be published as soon as I get a new set from Anzo USA. I'm working with them to fix a couple of minor defects in the current units. They also expect to have a set for the 2010 Prius soon. I really don't like the use of standard bulbs for the rear turn signals and I can't wait to get the Prius taillight assemblies changed.

The video surveillance is a custom system and I will not publish a "how to" guide for obvious reasons. However, I can share the schematics, parts list and installation details upon individual requests. I can also provide info on how to integrate the surveillance system with OEM security system on the 2010 Prius, including wiring, harnesses and connectors. ;)

oooh full LEDs. I saw that one for your HCH-II. I was hoping for a simple swap rather than the entire assembly.
