Moner...........are you sure the Canadian version is different (thinner) than the ones available in the US? Hard to tell from the photo. If they are then I'd prefer the ones like you have.

..............and I agree with Lefat, looking good!

Not sure, just judging from the pictures of the American version mine look less obvious on the car, maybe about half the width and definitely lower mounted.

Turns out the side mouldings didn't protect me for long. I just got my first ding, a nasty one, from the Acura that parks next to me at my apartment. The ding is almost a foot higher than where my mouldings are. Maybe I should just order a few sets and attach them all to the side of the car, haha. Yeah, that'd look good...

Ouch, sorry to hear about your ding. I always park far away from other vehicles. I get a lot of grief for that, but so far no dings. Not even in my 5-year old Nissan Frontier.

    All the Best!

What is it with people?? I am always careful when opening my door to not hit the car next to me. No matter how hard one tries to avoid parking next to someone that could hit you, they find you anyway. This morning, I parked and an SUV pulled up next to me. When she opened her door, she bumped me. It wasn't hard, so I knew there wouldn't be any damage, but I moved my car and parked somewhere else (right next to another 2010 grey Prius) because I didn't know if she would bother to open her door that softly when she returned and I wasn't there.

    Hi:

That must be so depressing. Hopefully the Acura owner will pay for your dent removal. We just returned a 'temporary' leased vehicle that we took over from someone else for 6 months till we got things straightened away for my disability, etc. It had a dent the size of a 50 cent piece in the passenger front door. The person who wanted out of the lease made it part of the agreement that we paid to have it fixed (it was well worth it as the monthly payment was only $300 for a 2006 Pontiac Torrent - she had invested heavily in an initial downpayment).

The repair done by 'The Dent Specialists' in St. John's, Newfoundland was fantastic! Could not see where it was on the vehicle after they did their 'magic' - the paint was silver so I am not sure if that might have helped.

Hopefully you have a company similar in Vancouver, BC that can work their 'magic'. I was wondering if you had put the mouldings at the same level as the US Models show it versus where ours show it going if it would have made a difference? I am now on two minds as I was going to go with BSM, but your little 'accident' makes me wonder if it is worth it. Has anyone from the US who installed BSM's have any real life examples if it has helped protect their 'baby'?

Moner, let us know how things work out. Again, so sorry about your little misfortune. Sure puts a 'dent' in your new car enjoyment! :)

    Take care.....

Fortunately, no dent removal will be necessary. The Acura only left a bit of his paint embedded in mine and put a small chip in the clear coat. You can tell he opened the door hard, and then continued to push his door along my car after to leave a nice 1/2 inch scrape. I've put many layers of Scratch Doctor and it's not getting much better. Now that I think about it, the scratch looks on the level the American mouldings are mounted. But I still don't regret getting the mouldings, they look quite nice and if they prevent one ding in their lifetime, I'll be happy.

Still pretty lame though, I spend so much time parking out on the street and walking instead of going in parking lots when I go out. I really didn't expect the guy that parks next to me every day to do it. I left him a note letting him know to take more care when opening his doors, hopefully he listens. I might not be so nice about it next time!
