FYI, a Toyota dealer in Ohio is auctioning these on ebay with a Buy-It-Now price of $199, plus ground shipping.

Has anyone had a chance to toss one of these on a Gen II to see if they might fit? The wiring is the easy part - I'm worried about physical fit.

PC Store has dropped the price to $229 w/ free shipping. Why not support a great internet resource w/ the extra $20?

Does anyone have the Toyota installation instructions to install these? The job looks very easy. Two wires on both sides. I have the kit and it has the following info on the side of the box.

ATTENTION – The installation instructions for this accessory are on the Electronic Toyota Information System (TIS). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy.

Can someone post a copy in .pdf? I got the .pdf off this site for the remote start and its working great.

I don't think we're allowed to post them for copyright reasons. If a moderator tells me otherwise, I'd be happy to post them. If not, just PM me and I'll email them to you.

I just ordered a set and I was reading the instructions and I see they tell have you disconnect the battery, do you have reset all the other equipment like windows or just the clock?

$249?????????? Geeez. I am just thinking how much gas that can buy. No offense but that is just WAY too much money for something that really doesn't add much to the car. Just think, the only time you see it is when you enter/leave the car.

I think if anyone who purchases and installs these gets a little bit happier every time they enter / leave the car it's probably worth it to them to buy & install them.

Plus it may raise the resale value of the car, who knows. Most luxury cars these days have them on it don't they?

I think you are spot on! I just sold my 06, the purchaser committed how nice the Prius was, and they could tell how well it was care for because it had a lot of extras on the car that made much more desirable then other Prius. Plus it was enjoyable making it my own!

I just installed the Door Stills. It took 15 minutes from start to end. Thanks for those that helped me get the install manual. It helps to have that.

I was going to take pics of the wiring but my setup is different. I have a Toyota remote start installed so the connections were a little different.

$1000 and up for custom wheels when in most cases, you will REDUCE gas mileage.

stereo upgrades, ALL of which lose more than half their value as soon as they leave the front door the place they were purchased at.

it goes on and on. there is very very few if any car mods that are worth even half what they cost.

so the real question becomes, what are you worth? and how much are you willing to pay to illustrate your uniqueness?

Next mod is to change the light on the door into a blue LED to match the sill...

There are two types of 'blue' LED sets - I got ones that had like 25 LEDs - you will then need to remove the plastic backing due to size - but since there's no heat, it's no issue... They're plenty bright - and match the lighted door...

I didn't disconnect the battery, but knew that I had a risk of blowing a fuse or worse if I "missed" or shorted a wire. If you D/C the battery, I'd expect to reset windows, clock, and radio presets.
