So you are getting 70kW during braking. Doesn't that mean you are seeing about 350 amps into the battery? I remember discussions of only about 100 amps for GenI2.

Other threads indicate that the spinning ICE, without fuel or compression braking, takes about 2kW. When I peg the Regen bar on level roads without the ICE spinning, it has never spun up into compression braking. Having spun it up into serious compression braking on six different multi-thousand foot mountain descents earlier this week, there is no missing that giant vacuum cleaner under the hood.

Lacking a better explanation, I must presume that the extra braking power is in the friction pads.

What's generating the 70kW during braking if not regenerative braking? Nothing else could...

Two recent threads describing the transition from regenerative to frictin braking - At speeds above 7 mph you notice it

What is indicating 70kw? ScanGauge? I'd like its code for regeneration power, as I have only battery voltage and current and SOC codes for Gen2, and haven't tried them on Gen3 (or Gen2, as I never had a one of those).

The first thread describes something I haven't experienced. But I have applied gradually escalating braking force at highway speed that must have reached around 200kw of braking power, without feeling the transition. I've also hit at least 400kw, but that was an emergency maneuver at highway speed, which triggered Brake Assist and was clearly friction braking from the start.

The second thread appears specific to Gen2, and I'm not yet ready to plow through 237 posts about an older model, when my understanding is that Gen3 has a smoother transition.

Please let us know which data shows the 70kW+ on the scangauge.
