Prius turn on and off repeatedly!!!

    JSH, did you find any loose or corroded connections on the old battery when replacing it?

    Richard,
    No, everything looked as clean as the day the car was assembled. All the bolts were tight.

    Jayman,
    I didn't grease the threads on the ground or battery terminals. That is something I normally do but considering this battery is inside and out of the weather I didn't bother.

    Ok. How is the car behaving now? Did you have a chance to test the old battery, or is it now pretty obvious the old battery really was kaput?

    The car is acting completely normal now. Voltage as measured with the MFD is good. I am convinced that the old battery is bad because it can't crank a 250cc motorcycle fresh off the charger.
