2010 Prius Mood Light Color

    So when I was shopping for the 2010 Prius, the pictures of the interior showed a blue LED interior mood light, but now that I have my car it has a white LED.

    What color LED does your Prius have? Have you thought about changing it? I love the mood lights such as the red in the Audi and BMW and was looking forward to seeing it in blue. White is not bad, but just curious what PriusChat thinks.

    LED is on the blue side of white. Would be interesting to have something different, but honestly being on w/ the headlights at night, I'd find it a distraction to constantly rotate through various colors.

    HTML, are you thinking of the outside lights? I'm talking of the LED mood light near the sunglass holder on the ceiling. If so, then yeah I agree that a color changing one would be distracting/cheesy.

    I am mainly wondering if we all have white LED in there as the toyota stock pictures featured a blue light.

    That's actually not a "mood" light.....it's a very small directional light to illuminate the "joystick" gear shift. Since the joystick isn't lit, in the dark you may not know which way you were shifting.

    Actually, I'm having that problem with my lit shift lever. With reverse is forward and drive forward is move shifter backwards. Who thought that up? :confused:

    Check out any floor mounted automatic transmission - they are P R N D L in that order from front to back. Been that way since the beginning of time for some reason. Certainly Toyota HAD TO maintain that order - imagine the lawsuits if not. I know, it doesn't seem logical, but that's life.

    Actually with the really different shift pattern/transmission this would have been a great oppertunity for Toyota to leave that legacy behind!

    well drive forward is still pulling back on a regular automatic. Reverse (from Drive) is push forward.. so how's that any different?

    Thanks! Thats what I wanted to know. I wondered if some were blue like in the Toyota catalog pictures.

    the led looks blue o the picture because of the color balance used on the camera, but the led is white..
