Today I purchased my III with Nav at OTD price of $28,000. I live in Southern California and I bought from the Southern California Dealer. One thing I would like to check with you guys is, dealer sold me (I took it) the enhanced security system (something he referred to as kill switch) for $395. I asked him whether there is any manufacturer security system on prius and he said there is not! He said this comes as an Option! Anybody has any idea on this? I had a feeling that he is lying something to me but I live near LA so I though better to take this option. This $395 was on top of 28,000. Also, he tried to force prepaid maintenance and some other prepaid maintenances that I did not take. He also tried to sell me Lojack for 1295 that I declined. He also matched my Credit Union APR 4.74%. On a other note, the salesman I dealt with was very good. So, this was my experience. Thanks a lot for this forum. Posts here helped me a lot in my research. I also realized that dealers have now started offering some discount off of MSRP. Do your research and they will offer you below MSRP. Thanks.
I also purchased mine from Longo toyota on 7/10/2009. They only put out about 5 PRIUS on the front lot but they actually have roughly 30-40 PRIUS in the back parking structure. Ask them to take you to the back.
I also bought a PRIus III w/Navi. My OTD Price was a little bit over $28,000. So I think you got a pretty good deal. As for the "enhanced security system", I am not too sure what that is but the dealership "Longo Toyota" did not try to sell that to me.
Re: Prius 2010 discounts Dianne is amazing! As you'll see from her daily updates, she has an amazing stock of the hard-to-find configurations and is able to get them quickly. On my recently purchased IV w solar roof, which she delivered within 2 weeks of my putting sown a $500 deposit, I was willing (and expecting) to pay MSRP and she, on her own initiative, took several hundred dollars off MSRP. She emailed me at 9:30 at night to tell me the car had just rolled onto her lot, and then again early the next morning. When I wasn't going to be able to fly down to LA, she suggested trucking it up to SF -- and split the cost with me. Call/email her. You'll be glad you did. And your neighbors will soon tell you how gorgeous your new car is.
7/19/09, purchased from Lemon Grove, CA - 2010 Model V with AT Package & carpeted floor+cargo mats, $1,500 off MSRP. MSRP includes standard $750 delivery and handling fee, no other accessories, & no other port or dealer installed options. Prius on lot for 20 days. The day before my 2010 purchase, went to KMT and they only showed me 2 2010 Model Vs with AT package (not my preferred color) from Longo Toyota (another Penske dealer) which they would be glad to drive down for free with 90 more miles on the odometer. Each Longo Prius had several port installed options such as VIP alarm, mats, wheel locks, bumper applique, etc. I learned from Lemon Grove that my preferred color 2010 with AT was available from another SoCal dealer so was surprised that KMT did not make me aware of this !
Ordered my Barcelona Red Prius III with Nav and Solar + VIP Security and floor/cargo mats and am getting it for $400 over dealer cost due to being a CostCo member. I was going to buy it Sunday but then the dealer let me know they had sold the one he was telling me about on the phone but would order one for me at the same price.
Re: Prius 2010 discounts Gang I can confirm just how good and straight forward she is. I bought my Gen II 2004 from her and I live in Texas... BEST sales person I have EVER dealt with. Come to Texas and show these jerks a thing or too OH how is that build-a-bear holding out
Which dealership? Santa Monica Toyota said about three weeks ago that there was not going to be Costco pricing any time soon. How much off MSRP was your price? Thanks!
Yeah, DCH Toyota of Torrance wasn't participating in the Costco program either due to current demand and limited supplies, although they said they're in the process of re-negotiating a new price agreement (a small price reduction for Costco members). However, you can find pretty good deals without going through the Costco program if you shop around and negotiate (such as $750 under MSRP at Longo Toyota).
I'm not a Costco dealer officially, but I am doing Costco - like pricing. If you're local enough to me (like within 500 or so miles) you might want to reach me for some pretty decent pricing on most models.
Hollywood Toyota. He told me over the phone he would honor it then when I was there he said they are not doing it for Prius IV or V though, which didn't matter because I always knew I wanted the III (which he knew as well so he wasn't trying to bait and switch or anything). North Hollywood Toyota told me they are not doing the Costco price for Priuses. Hollywood Toyota has a pretty good selection on the lot, you should call them up. He quoted me the $400 over invoice over the phone when I told him I was a Costco member and no changes when I showed up. I talked to Reza who is the internet sales manager I believe. Since I ordered mine he said he doesn't know when delivery will be since he has to find out his allocation. I don't know how allocation works... but they are going to let me know in a few days when I can expect the car. Now, I'm wondering though if the options I got should have a different dealer invoice that I get the discount on or not... Even if not I'm getting the car for approx. $1400 under MSRP.
Odd. Am honoring it PERSONALLY on most all Prius. Make sure you know what invoice is to keep 'em honest. I'm a $(specific dollar amount) under window sticker so there are no games, and it's consistent. And, that red III with sunroof won't be an easy car to obtain. Good luck on that one. The needle in the haystack. I have a feeling that once the C4C starts, anyone offering a discount on Prius won't be working very hard to draw a crowd for these cars. You may get pushed to the fringes of business in favor of "right now" deals at MSRP...
If only I had started getting prices Saturday I would've been driving that car right now! They had one on the lot with the dark grey interior I want and it got sold Sunday mid-morning. When I was on the phone with him I didn't think I wanted Nav and Solar but after he told me what red cars he had and their options I started thinking about it and decided I deserved it! Then when I went to go buy it it had been sold. But I ordered it, so I get what I want, don't I?
