I don't understand side mouldings though. Cars and trucks around you are of varying heights and will ding your doors above and below the moulding. Maybe they should make mouldings that span the entire height of the vehicle.

Wasn't that the purpose of the original Saturns with the plastic door panels?

There go the hundreds of thousands of $$$ Toyota spent on aero in the wind tunnel. ;)

Not to mention that they are just plain "butt ugly".

Reminds me of a 1980 Ford.

    Yechh!

I like the side mouldings, another horizontal line makes the Prius look a little longer.
I have mouldings on my gen II and I like them.
I doubt there is any perceptible impact on cD of fuel consumption.

Here's mine, with the Canadian side mouldings. Personally I think they look really good, hardly noticeable. They are mounted a bit lower and look thinner than the American version.

I have been looking at putting these on mine. Who did you source them from. I have seen them on eBay where the seller paints them to match the car color.

Just purchased a 2010 Blue Ribbon Metallic IV and would like to install matching side moldings like yours. Could you tell me where they were purchased?
    Thank you

I'm not sure what country you're from but...
They were purchased from my local Toyota dealership as an OEM accessory available only here in Canada. However, I do know of one American Priuschat member that was able to order them from a Vancouver, BC dealership and had them shipped to the states.
Here is the toyota.ca page showing them under Exterior Accessories... TOYOTA CANADA : Vehicles > 2010 Prius > Accessories You could try calling the Canadian dealership closest to you and see if they'll help you out?

Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't the outside of the doors on the 2010 models mostly concave, making side molding pretty much useless? I think if anything hit, it would hit first near the top of the door, then at the bottom of the door.

I have put moldings on a 06 & 2010, I think it looks GREAT! I took a lot of care & time before I installed them. I put a 4' level up to the side of the car to see the hit point. The hit point of the others doors is between 15.5" & 11.5" from the bottom of the door. I then installed the moldings in the middle of that. I purchased both sets of moldings from metrotpn.com , they match perfect and also come with a installation glide. I am taking it in for tinting and paint protection this morning, after that I will post the pictures back here tonight.
