I've never been selected for jury duty.

 

I haven't either. I would love to be called for jury duty, it would be so interesting.

I've been taking the subway from home to jury duty, but taking the bus from jury duty to home.

On Friday, my bus's meter was broken, so the bus driver had to let everyone on for free. I love it when that happens. Saved $2.25.

 

I've got a sunburnt chest... massive loads of coconut oil, and I'll be fine!

Gosh, I just love summer...

 

I'm so bored, I simply have nothing to say...

I just heard the dryer do its dinging thing.

It sounds like the dive chimes on a submarine... four "di-ong" chimes...

Now I have to go put away clean clothes. Much better than putting away dirty clothes.

 

This morning, I was going to go to jury duty first by going crosstown on the bus and then by going downtown with a free transfer to the subway.

I didn't know how much money I had left on my electronic bus/subway fare card. So when I got on the bus and put my card in the meter, the meter took whatever was left on the card -- $1.75 -- and the driver said that was OK and to get on the bus notwithstanding that I hadn't paid the full $2.25 fare.

However, when I tried to transfer to the downtown subway, the turnstile meter wouldn't give me the free transfer I was entitled to. So I had to pay a separate, full $2.25 fare to get on the subway.

This meant that I essentially paid $4.00 ($1.75 for the bus + $2.25 for the subway) for a trip that should have cost $2.25.

Just goes to show you, the meter giveth and the meter taketh away.

This morning I woke up with a lot of energy , was planing to do a fine sanding to the fiberglass body of my future EV car project, a Bradley GTII and later to clean the backyard and patio for the incoming weekend party, but I saw the sky all dark and an extremely humid environment, ready for a thunderstorm, that I went back to bed to watch the early news for a while.............with a coffee cup on hand.

 

It's not as hot today as it was yesterday. We still have the AC running, though, as it's hotter than usual for here.

 

The Northwest got the Northeast's sunshine and heat, and the Northeast got the Northwest's rain.

In June, New York received over 10 inches of rain. And Boston only had 3 sunny days (defined as no more than 30% cloud cover).

It's rained every day since Sunday. It's raining now.

I read in the New York Times that some meteorologists said that this "flipping" of the Northwest and Northeast's weather happens sometimes.

The heck with this flipping. It's almost August, and I haven't been to the beach yet. But I hear that the weather is supposed to clear up for the weekend -- just in time for mrbigh's outdoor party (our invitations for which must have gotten lost in the mail).

 

Oh gosh, this snail mail.............

 

I had a huge 4-pronged tree cut down in my back yard today because it was dying and might have fallen on my house or my neighbors'. I don't know where the squirrels are going to go.

 

That's very kind of you. Now I have a new Prius. I guess I need to have someone take a new photo of me with my new car.
