Warrenton Toyota has a silver IV with solar roof, carpeted mats and wheel locks. Their description is lacking, but the Build Your Toyota page gets you to the same MSRP they show when you select the IV with solar roof, carpeted mats, and wheel locks.

I called one of the sales guys today (who had sold a IV with solar to a Priuschat member recently) to ask him whether he had any coming in that I could look at, since I haven't had much luck finding any. He told me that the reason nobody has them is because Toyota has only made about 4 or 5 percent of their 2010s with solar roofs. When I mentioned that 25%of the owners on Priuschat have a solar roof, he said that Priuschat people tend to be more <something - I can't remember the word> and would tend to go for the solar roof or package V with ATP more than most people. Then he said if I didn't believe him he would email the information that he got from Toyota. Let's see what he sends.

Whatever. I guess all you Priuschat people who already have your III or IV with solar have left the rest of the population with none! I mean, if Toyota only made 5% and you have taken 25% already, you must have sucked the supply dry! :eek:hwell:

He probably just meant that the people who are big Prius fans and are wanting and willing to spring for the newest and coolest features (sunroof/solar & ATP) are probably the same type of people that would come to an online forum dedicated solely to the Prius. (for the most part)
    It makes sense to me.

However, I hope that 5% figure isn't true. If it is, what was Toyota thinking??? Only 5%????

You might want to get in touch with stefcat of Koons Easton MD. She seems to have a good handle on SR availability. I think she has sold at least 3 cars with the sunroof option already (possibly even in the first allocation).

The dealers i've spoken to claimed that 10% of the cars have sunroofs.

I think a good set of words for the above are the got have it now, at any cost, early adopters.

I don't know the percentage figures, but it seems reasonable to assume that many will balk due to the price, esp. if they don't live in hotter regions. The MSRPs on solar roof equipped 2010 Priuses end up being $26,6000 or $29,400. That's getting pretty spendy for a Prius.

My dealer said the SR figure was 7%. Sounds like it's somewhere between 5% & 10%.

Coming from a new IV SR - it's well worth the price. The nav, bluetooth, sat XM, homelink & upgraded JLB are excellent. The bun warmers & leather are really nice too. Bottom line - the prius is a FUN car to drive.

Fun even without the fancy bum warmers :D

I am surprised at the earlier comments about Koons Tyson's not being knowledgeable. They seemed to be the most knowledgeable out of the dealers I talked to, so they were the ones I put a deposit with. However, the dealer I worked with, Scott Cooper, was a PC'er, but unfortunately he is not working there anymore.

Anyway, I have been waiting for a Blue pkg III with SR, and just got a call from them saying that it will probably be 6 months before they get one. My choice was to wait 6 months, or take one with just Nav and have it in a few weeks. I chose to wait.

Can I assume that all the 2010's with SR in our region are pkg IV's? That is the only one on the Build A Toyota site that gives you the SR option (when you put in a VA zip). The III's only give you Nav. That's why I'm having to wait so long; the one I want wasn't allocated to this region.

The listing on the Build A Toyota site is not entirely accurate, as evidenced by my package III with SR purchased at Koon's Easton MD. Although I left my contact information to nearly every dealer within a 50 mile radius, scouring the PriusChat forums for "sunroof/moonroof/solar" ended up being the most useful (big thanks to stefcat for her posts!).
