CNET finally gives some real attention to the Prius 2010 and recently posted a full review of it. Despite their obvious inclination towards the Milan Hybrid/Ford Fusion's cabin tech, it still got a prestigious CNET Editors Choice award. Congrats Prius!

2010 Toyota Prius Coupe/Hatchback reviews - CNET Reviews

    However:
Cnet missed the mark on something: They seem to be completely unaware an OEM fully integrated USB/IPOD interface will be available in September... wonder why they missed that?

qoute : We also had a rearview camera on our car, but Toyota implemented a back-up beeping, similar to what you find on big trucks. This gets kind of annoying, although it's probably a pedestrian safety feature, as the Prius will usually be running under quiet electric power when it reverses.

    :D
guess what guys.. thats not on the outside but inside of the car:D

Cool article, but you are right that they should have mentioned the iPod interface starting in September.
Will it be standard with the Nav or as an option?

I just can't get over how ugly it is (not to offend anyone that may actually like it).
I mean, it doesn't even say "iPod" on the screen, right?
Doesn't it say "DVD" or something like that instead?
That's pretty lame. Wth is up with that?
My Scion tC came with a much cooler looking interface.
This is such a disappointment to me. I love my iPod.

    Anyway... Thanks for the link.

Thank god it's not on the outside... I'd disable it.
In fact, I might disable it anyway... if I can.

The reverse beeping can be disabled, but, unfortunately only by a dealer. I had mine removed immediately after delivery.

I did find it amusing that they had trouble keeping the mileage over 50 mpg at 65-70 mph. Must have been either very cold, very hot, very windy or a steep climb. Of course, my Blazer struggles to get over 17 mpg at 65-70 mph. I guess it all depends on where you're coming from.

My understanding is we can have it issue one beep when we go into reverse.

I figured to get that fixed when I take it in at 5,000 miles for the first oil changes and code read-outs.

Is this true from the review?
I'm surprised; seems like a big limitation to me. MS Sync (in Ford Fusion Hybrid) doesn't have this limitation, so you can get calls while streaming Bluetooth.

You can also stream bluetooth music while recieving a call. The music will pause, the phone will ring. When done with call, music resumes.
What limitation are you referring to on the Prius?

Additionally, once iPhones get a newer version of the bluetooth profile, you will be able to gte track information, and additional controls on the screen. This is an iPhone limitation, not the Prius.

LIke the previous poster, I also had some issue with initial BT music sync, but then after iPhone restart, both BT Phone and BT Audio have worked like a dream.

Do Prius Owners post Prius plugs on the Fusion Hybrid site too?

I was just quoting from the CNET article; so you're saying that's not accurate. I had trouble believing it was.

As to whether Prius owners post on FFH sites, yes they do. Why wouldn't they? That wasn't a FFH plug either, don't be so sensitive.

It was a favorable article, but still not a glowing one. I am surprised that the reviews from the majority of reviewers are not better. They have expectations of a 40K car. I think they forget the price point of this car.
