lights went on on the way home after purchasing auto

    I just purchased my new 2010 IV prius yesterday, On the way home two lights went on in the dashboard, the ready light with yellow exclamation point and check hybrid engine light. I phoned the dealership and took back the auto. Has this happened to anyone else and do you recommend me not to purchase this auto at all. Thank you. Marcie

    How many miles were on the car when you left the dealership? One of the items they should have done was test drive the car. When you talk to them, ask them for the specific OBD code(s) and keep a documented copy of the service work.

    I would be apprehensive about taking the car. If they have to order parts, I would back out of the deal.
    We didn't have any trouble at all with ours and I haven't read of any issues like yours on the 2010 yet.

    It had 8 miles on it and when I took it back service dept was closed. Salesman said it might be a programming problem. Will know more tomorrow. I am inclined to tell them to order me a different one. Thank you for your reply.
