The whole purpose of the thread was not to warn you of the dealer shorting you. I'm simply saying if you want to start from DAY 1 checking your FE then you need to verify that you are starting out with a full tank. Even if it's just a quartedr of a gallon short of full, your first tank average will be impacted.

If you're not really into checking FE, you really don't need to worry about this at all. I just didn't want people upset at the end of 400 miles with a lower tank average when in reality they probably had better numbers. Then you have to wait another 400 miles to check it again.

This is a great idea as I'm one who has always been anal about recording the fillup data and resetting the ODO but I have a question. This will be my first Prius (when I get it) and I will not have looked at the owners manual when I stop at the gas station within sight of the dealer. Can someone tell me how to reset (on a 2010) whatever I need to reset when I fillup after driving away from the dealer? At that point, I will have no familiarity with the display and all the buttons but can't wait to learn!

I'd ask. The TCH was pretty simple but I am not (yet) familiar with the Prius either.
