I traded in a Blizzard Pearl Highlander for a Silver IV with NAV. Having owned both in the past, I know that the BP looks nice when clean, but the silver looks nice all the time. And the silver is less likely to show paint defects.

I'd decide based on the interior preference. If you prefer bisque, go with BP; if you prefer one of the grays, go with silver.

My experience with white is it always looks dirty unless just washed. Silver is the best for looking clean, even when dirty. My inbound 2010 Prius V is Classic Silver. My wife's LaCrosse is silver. I hope she can tell the difference between her Buick and my Toyota.

Came from Black to Blizzard Pearl and am LOVING the color! Seems to stay fairly clean ... what wouldn't when coming from Black? Something about this Pearl color is just great ... still looks white, but isn't ... and like Dianne said, in the evening sun it almost takes on that eggshell color (but not quite).

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm still not 100% sure on which color. I never thought I'd be this torn! Hahaha.

A question for the techies from someone else who is trying to decide between silver and blizzard pearl:
Which has greater reflectivity? Or will that make any difference in the R world?
I live in Ark., with lots of sun and a very long very hot summer, so what I want is a color that helps the A/C the most.

To add, BP does hide regular dirt well, but up close, black tire dust, etc. is pretty clearly visible on the back of the car.

Oh really? Yeah I assume BP hides dirt obviously better than black, but not AS WELL as silver.

I just picked up my Blizzard Pearl V w/ winter gray last night. I absolutely love it!

It is bug season in the midwest so I'v already starting a nice collection of bugs on my bumper and side mirrors. I think my fine splattered friends may be less noticeable on my previous car which was a blue silver Passat (close to silver) but so far I'm not bothered by it. I love the color and I enjoy keeping my cars clean.

So in comes winter in Minnesota and with it the salt shakers. I am hoping the white salt of the roads looks a bit snazzier on the white than my old blue silver. I think keeping a car clean in winter is somewhat of a losing battle no matter what the color. I do well just to make sure I keep the layers of salt and yuck at a minimum.

Congrats on your new car! When you say Winter Grey, do you mean the lighter grey leather?

The bug story reminds me of when I had a white car before my 06 Prius. I had a white Mercedes which was a plain egg white. No pearl effect at all. Whenever I would drive it to Vegas in the hot weather, I would see all this splattered colored stuff on the front and side mirrors. It was bugs that were killed on my car. So gross! However, it reaaaallly showed up badly on the white paint. Maybe that kinda thing shows less on the pearly white but I bet it wouldn't show much on the Silver.

I gotta make my decision by this weekend!

I figure all that bug splatter is going to look great on my Sandy Beach Metallic! :D

Yep the lighter gray. I originally was going for the dark gray but after seeing the lighter bisque leather in another Blizzard Pearl I liked the idea of a lighter color. Bisque isn't for me so I went with the lighter gray. I really like the two-tone color. My littlest munchkin will be 12 so I don't have the fear of stains as much as I use too.

I had even more interesting bug artwork when I lived in Iowa . . . :)

Look at the Venza in Blizzard Pearl, it is a beautiful color. I wish Toyota's silver was a little brighter. Audi has a great silver

This is why when we ordered ours we didn't specify a color. I don't think the prius looks bad in any color, I just want one :D

If you were getting a GenII, I'd advise you to stay away from silver because it is so common, at least around here. However, Blizzard Pearl seems to have taken the lead in GenIII, so silver may not be as prevalent in the new generation. If you really want to be different, get the Barcelona Red.

I just saw the Blizzard in person for the first time today and was actually not as in love with it as I thought I would be. Maybe it was because it was rainy and cloudy, but it actually was a little creamy which turned me off, I thought it would be crisper looking.

So far I think my favorite color on this car is barcelona...

I know a few of you have mentioned Barcelona Red which would actually be my 3rd choice. It first came out when I got my 06 Prius and I was very close to going with that red which I liked a whole lot better than the Salsa color. What stopped me from choosing it was that I was concerned I would get sick of it and that it maybe wouldn't do well for resale value. Now? Hmm I didn't even really think of going with red.

I have an 06 silver and I don't particularly like the color. It is very light and even after cleaning and polishing it never really sparkles. The paint seems thin and easily chips and dings. I am thinking of getting a 2010, and am trying to decide between blizzard pearl, blue ribbon, winter grey, or black. I want to see all of them in person before making a decision. I am definitely going to get a solar roof, which also makes a big difference to the way the car looks in any color. The BP really seems to look good with solar roof and tinted windows. I like the blue ribbon but feel that it might look a little too dark with the black solar roof.

Not if you look at white as a blank canvas to showcase your creative side :p
