Does anyone prefer the 2G Prius to the 2010?

I agree, financial considerations absolutely do play a role. I got a 2009 Touring package 6 for $4,950 off MSRP. That's a lot of dough (but only one of the reasons I prefer the 2009).

And for those guys who chime in to defend the 2010, remember, the title of this thread is, "Does anyone prefer the 2G Prius to the 2010." Obviously, the OP was looking for your personal preference. That's quite a bit different from asking which model Prius is "better."

The $4,950 off MSRP I paid was a Toyota incentive to move left-over 2Gs off the lot. You'd better hurry if you want to get a new 2G.

If there was a 6 month waiting list, we might, but since there isn't, we're kind of thinking we'd like to take a test drive - especially since neither of us has ever driven a Prius at all - only dreamed....:wub:

Drive? Now? Public transportation all the way, baby! But you probably meant what did we drive in the land of suburbia.... We still own our 1991 Toyota Previa and gave away our 1991 Geo Prizm (Corolla clone) before moving to Beijing. We drive cars until they are gasping for breath (maybe we should change the air filters more often... ). When I read posts about the road noise in a Prius, I know that won't be an issue for us compared to what we are used to, but comments about the seats make me think we should try it out before buying (seems like the seats are just fine for most, but I'd hate to buy and then be in that small percentage that don't like them...), and we are used to having LOTS of visability in the Previa - just looking at the outside of the Prius makes me worry about how well we'll be able to see while driving...

 

ahh ok. i had the impression that you split time between the states and china. so you have actually been in china for an extended period then.
