    They just unloaded my Prius IV off the truck! I am headed to Boston(Dorchester) in a hour to pick it up. They told me it took 5 hours at port to install all of the accesories I wanted (including door sills, VIP alarm, cargo net). I will upload pics, review, cost, etc later today. Wish me luck!!!:rockon:

    Congratulations! Good Luck! :cheer2::cheer2:

    Also when you test drive it, see how far the car will glide/coast in D. My car doesn't coast in D very far and I have no other car to compare it to.
    Also post some pics when you get a chance. :D

    Steve I believe I read some of your posting yesterday about 38 mpg avg. You need to get a bit more information on how to coast in D... so if you just let off the gas only the car starts to regenerate juice and slow your vehicle down, if you apply breaks you will generate even more juice. Not sure how to explain gauges in 2010 car. But on a 06 you let the gas up all the way and just lightly hit the gas to where the display would go black the same as if you put the car in "N" while driving... from what I have seen o-line is the best screen to be able to tell is the one with the long bar that goes left and right. The further to the right the bar goes you are doing bad, further to the left is good. If you have 0 rpm and not generating power no bar should be on that screen. It takes practice, get on some road that speed limit is like 40 with no traffic. After letting up on the gas press and hold very small amount of gas pedal (very light pressure) if you go two high you will see bars sometimes if you just hold steady with that light touch of gas the bars go away slight delay to turn engine off. If all else fails just put car in "n" at 40 to 45 mph so you can see what gauges do and you can see what effect you want when costing. Changing gear during drive is not an issue. I tried on a rental to put car in reverse going 20 and the car just beeps at you. Go have fun. By the way car average start a 0 so you need to build up some history with your car for it to report correct MPG. Any time you reset your computer you build up from 0, it not like it think you have 55 average and you are going + or – of that starting out. Give it some time I think you are fine. I do think it is funny, because my wife just drives the 06 Prius car normal and does better than you, she could care less about good gas she is always behind and just wanting to go J , however she is starting with my history (or Average) so she brings down my average some almost every time she get in the car. I would kick her but if she rest my computer (not really but tell her), so I have no idea how bad she really is. Hope this helps.

    I just got it home. Have averaged 55MPG in combination of rush hour stop and go traffic and eventually speeds of 70 for 70 miles! It seems to glide well when I provide just enough pressure on the pedal to have no arrows in any direction on the monitor. I too ran into the Point Of Origin certificate problem. This will not arrive until tomorrow so they temporarily gave me a dealer plate as they trust me as I bought 3 other new cars at that dealer. I decided to go without the wheel covers and ordered some caps for the holes in the center. They filled the car and the monitor said I had 610 Miles until empty.(Wow!) The sunroof was great although I did not use it too much as it just started raining. I have lots of reading to do as these manuals are thick! I will post pics soon.

    Also, forgot to mention. I got the car $600 under MSRP. I got only $12500 for my 2006 Prius Package 6 w/ 54000 miles on it. Put $5000 down and financed the rest at 5% for 2 years.

    Very nice Pics! One day I can post mine.
    Glad to hear that you had no issues trying to cost in “D” official called glide.

    Thanks XMan, actually I got 48mpg yesterday not 38 that was omeone else. Your advice is sound and others have been clueing me in as to how to get the best mpg as well. I think I have well over 100 miles and I still have all the pips showing.
    We have alot of hills around here so that detracts from the mileage as well, but I am coasting in D more and gently braking on steeper hills going down. Not much you can do about going up the hills tho.

    I am sure when you say hills that like a mountain to me. I call an overpass a hill. I still pulse and glide with about a 10 MPH range +/-going up hills, try to get my speed up just as I get to base of hill and coast a bit and step and repeat. Sometimes my speed is low at top of hill so I hit the gas a bit hard, to get speed up, and glide as start down. I have pickup a ticket doing this. I tried to explain to the police officer that I was trying to stay green but he did not understand or care. If my wife is in the car I just put the cruise control on. Other idea is to follow a rig you can save about 5MPG by doing this (draft). My wife did figure out what I was doing after a while. She asked if I could at least go the speed limit and not follow any trucks. I try to keep her happy, if my average is high before the road trips no issues. If she had been driving my car and my average is down, I can get a bit frustrated. At that point I will ask if she want to drive most of the time she say no and lets me be. Then I am trying to repair the damage, when she sleeping, this is when I get great gas mileage :)

    We have all kinds of hills here, some steep, some long, some a mix of both. We are at the beginning of the mountains here but not in the big mountain area.
    You don't see a lot of flat here except on the highway although there are streets that have no hills. My road is like a roller coaster. ;)
    Great fun in some cars, The cops know this and monitor it closely since it's fairly remote.
    I've found that no matter how much I coast people will still cut me off so I have to jab the brakes.
    Sounds like your wife is like mine. My wife likes sports cars and going fast. She's not thrilled about the Prius. She wanted us to get a Subaru WRX or an EVO X.
    I'll probably pick up an 7-8 year old Miata for her next year as a weekend car. That will make her happy.
    I'm trying to improve my mileage techniques but I won't tailgate the trucks here. I have enough trouble with SUV's jamming on their brakes and I can't see ahead of them to avoid it.
