What do you thinjk that my chances are?

    Hi All:

    I have a 2010 Prius on order. This will be my 3rd Prius. I had a Gen 1 white Prius (that was unfortunately totalled by a Ford Explorer) and now own a 2007 Prius.

    I have a black III or IV on order (I'll take either). I'm in southern NJ and am supposedly at the top of the list for a car.

    What do you think my chances are to receive the car before August 30?

    I have heard several things at two different dealerships...one dealer told me I wouldn't get one, don't hold my breath and the other has me as #1 (friends with someone in the dealsership).

    I spoke with two dealerships in South Jersey and one told me they'd have them on the lot first week in June, and another told me that they won't see them on the lot for over 2 months because they are only being made right now.

    Show's you how informed some dealers are!

    I'd say your chances are good. Reports say that the next inbound ship is due at Newark, NJ on June 11 (? I may be off by a day or two). It's on the Pyxis Leader and are supposedly 1100 priuses on that ship for our region. Then again, I apologize if all this information is wrong and all I did was get your hopes up. :fear:

    Thanks! That's encouraging to know. Even though I currently have my 2007 baby, I can't wait for the 2010! I thought that , because I want a specific color and package (but will accept a IV if iit comes in first) it might be a very lo0ng wait.

    One NJ dealership told me that each NJ dealer is only getting 2 in...for the year. Trying to get me to buy then and there I guess?

    Isn't that interesting? As I said in my last post, one dealer told me that I wouldn't get a car because all NJ dealers we only getting 2 in..for the year. Didn't stop them from taking a $500 deposit on a 2010 prius from me last week though...lol (that deal was a horror story in itself..ended up reporting the dealer to corporate because of their sales tactics).

    I just got off of the phone with another dealer who told me they are getting one car this week and others in 2-3 weeks, but there are 25 people ahead of me. Thankfully I'm at the head of the list at the dealer near my job because my neighbor works there.

    After the deposit fiasco, I don't know who to believe though..lol
