I've just noticed that the moonroof is quite flat. I wonder how much force that wind deflector has to withstand. It's standing nearly 45°! How does the wind noise compare to a standard Toyota moonroof with those plastic wind deflectors?

For our Camry, at 60km/h, it becomes quite noisy (a good use of the moonroof as a speed indicator lol)

So... what you're saying is you want a color no one else likes?

To me, it is the same or slightly quieter than other cars I have had with a sunroof including 2001 Toyo Corolla, 2003 Dodge Caravan and 2005 Honda Accord.

Hmm.. interesting... So the only advantage is rear headroom because the moonroof slides above the roof rather than in between the roof and the headliner/ceiling.

But then that begs the question. Why is a larger deflector needs over the smaller plastic ones in the regular moonroofs to achieve the same level of quietness (or wind buffeting). Keep in mind that the moonroof has two opening positions with the first one meant to reduce wind buffeting.

Keep in mind that the moonroof glass is the full width of the roof, quite a bit wider than a standard in roof moonroof. The interior opening is fairly large as well. In my Scion Tc, which has the same design roof, I find it to be quieter at low to moderare speeds than most others I have experienced.

I don't want to hijack the photo thread, but I thought I'd try a quick answer here. Any more discussion probably should go in a separate thread.

Quick answer: You can't close the armrest fully AND have a cord come out. Qualification: I looked at this question closely, but I didn't try the hookup.

You can close the armrest ALMOST all the way, and it appears to stay in place. Still, it seems to be a design flaw. Why have the AUX in a place that is so inaccessible, then? I'll look tomorrow to see if there is a way to have the armrest fully closed and yet have a line come out so the iPod/iPhone can be in use and view while connected.

Nice pics...thanks for posting. In the backseat photo I couldn't see it but is the air intake cooling vent still located on the passenger side rear seat by the window...just wondering if it was moved?

Ok. This is a bit off topic, but still kind of related. I haven't seen a picture of a 2010 door handle that has the square, black, SKS lock button. Can someone verify if they are still there on SKS equipped 2010 Prii or if they took them off? If indeed they don't include it anymore, does locking the car from the outside rely completely on the fob lock button?

I hadn't noticed but yes, the lock button on the outside of front door handles is gone. I always lock mine using the inside armrest switch as I am stepping out, so that is another alternative to relying on the key fob.

There is a lock button on the rear hatch that locks all the doors.

The external lock button looks to now be a set of touch sensitive grooves/ bumps on the door handle itself.

Search for "2010 Toyota Prius: Smart Key"on youtube. It's about 2:15 in.

I like a lot about the 2010, but I HATE the gear shift. I hate where they put it, I hate the fact that it is going backwards in technology, and not forward. My dad had a car in the 1960's that had Push Buttons for the transmission on the dash. You would think by 2010, we would be done with the gear stick, and just be push buttons on a screen.

And that center console just looks like it gets in the way of ever being able to slide across the car. Which oddly enough, I have had to do once or twice in my Prius.

Don't hate me for being honest. I am just even more pleased I have my '05 still. And I have the bypass so I can type on the screen while driving as well. But I hope you enjoy the car. :)

Here's a pic (notice the grooves, which are on top and bottom of the front part of the handle).

What's that piece protruding above the handle--I've never seen that in any pictures?

    LOL!
You are right brained/left brained whatever they call it!
Look at that close up longer.. stare at it.
It's the INSIDE of the door handle where your hand slips to open the door... reflection is fooling ya.
You see it convex I think?
